Trane Symbio 800 CGAM (CH530) BACnet points list

Updated 28 October 2026

Short answer

A short list of 72 BACnet objects for CGAM chillers, using low instance numbers and output objects for the BAS commands: AO for chilled water, hot water, heat recovery and demand limit setpoints, BO for auto/stop, diagnostic reset, noise reduction and heat recovery enable, and MO for the chiller mode. There are no per-alarm diagnostic objects; BI 23 Alarm Present is the summary alarm.

This page lists 72 BACnet objects for the Trane Symbio 800 CGAM (CH530) — 9 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from Trane’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: Trane Symbio 800 CGAM (CH530)

Integration in brief

Put the chiller on the network (BACnet MS/TP or IP), then write the auto/stop command, chilled water setpoint, demand limit and mode. Read back running state, leaving water temperature and capacity. Check the local-setpoint flag to confirm the BAS setpoints are actually in use. The commands are AO/BO/MO objects; everything else is read-only status.

Minimum points to map

The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

ObjectNameWhyAccess
BO 1Chiller Auto Stop CommandBMS auto/stop (enable) commandWrite
MO 1Chiller Mode CommandCool/heat/ice mode commandWrite
AO 1Chilled Water SetpointChilled water setpoint from the BMSWrite

Enable & remote start

BO 1 Chiller Auto Stop Command (Inactive = Stop, Active = Auto; relinquish default Auto) is the BMS auto/stop; with it at Auto the chiller runs when its own run conditions are met. BI 1 Run Enabled shows whether the chiller is enabled to run. The documents don't say how the two combine or how to hand setpoint control to the BAS; BI 2 Local Setpoint Control shows when the chiller is using local setpoints instead of BAS setpoints.

Type: AI, AO, AV, BI, BO, BV, MI/MO/MV (multi-state) · Access: Read read-only, Write writable, Command writable with a priority array.

Note: the source document has no read/write column, so access here is inferred from the object type (inputs read-only, values writable). Confirm on the live controller before writing.

Integration notes

Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the Symbio 800 CGAM (CH530) and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. New to BACnet? Start with what a BACnet points list is and what the object types mean.

Questions about the Trane Symbio 800 CGAM (CH530)

How many BACnet points does the Trane Symbio 800 CGAM (CH530) have?

This list has 72 BACnet objects: 37 analog inputs, 4 analog outputs, 19 binary inputs, 4 binary outputs, 7 multi-state inputs, 1 multi-state output. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.

Which Trane Symbio 800 CGAM (CH530) BACnet points are writable?

9 of the 72 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done. The source has no read/write column, so this is inferred from object type.

Where is the official Trane Symbio 800 CGAM (CH530) BACnet documentation?

The source is Symbio 800 Integration Points List BACnet - CGAM (CH530) (BAS-PTS027A-EN), revision 12/6/2024, published free by Trane at https://elibrary.tranetechnologies.com/public/commercial-hvac/Literature/Points%20List/BAS-PTS027A-EN_12062024.pdf.

What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the Trane Symbio 800 CGAM (CH530)?

Start with BO 1 Chiller Auto Stop Command (BMS auto/stop (enable) command); MO 1 Chiller Mode Command (Cool/heat/ice mode command); AO 1 Chilled Water Setpoint (Chilled water setpoint from the BMS); AO 3 Demand Limit Setpoint (Capacity (demand) limit from the BMS); BI 4 Chiller Running State (Chiller on/off status); BI 2 Local Setpoint Control (Shows if local setpoints override BAS setpoints); AI 45 Evaporator Leaving Water Temp (Leaving chilled water temperature); AI 5 Actual Running Capacity (Actual running capacity in percent); BI 23 Alarm Present (Any active alarm on the chiller).

How do I enable BMS control of the Trane Symbio 800 CGAM (CH530)?

BO 1 Chiller Auto Stop Command (Inactive = Stop, Active = Auto; relinquish default Auto) is the BMS auto/stop; with it at Auto the chiller runs when its own run conditions are met. BI 1 Run Enabled shows whether the chiller is enabled to run. The documents don't say how the two combine or how to hand setpoint control to the BAS; BI 2 Local Setpoint Control shows when the chiller is using local setpoints instead of BAS setpoints.

How do I check these points on the real Symbio 800 CGAM (CH530)?

Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
