Easy BACnet is a diagnostic tool for building-automation technicians. It broadcasts a standard BACnet Who-Is message on the local network, lists the BACnet/IP devices that respond, reads their points, and can bundle the results into a CSV file.
Easy BACnet receives nothing from your use of the app and has no way to see what you scan or what your network contains.
This website, easybacnet.com, uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which guides are useful and how visitors arrive. It runs with Google Consent Mode: no analytics cookie is set and no data is sent until you choose Accept on the cookie banner. If you decline, or ignore the banner, Analytics stays off. Your choice is remembered in your browser and you can clear it any time by clearing this site's data. IP addresses are anonymised, and no advertising or cross-site tracking signals are collected on the website. Google's handling of Analytics data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. This is entirely separate from the app, which contains no analytics.
The free version shows occasional rewarded video ads, supplied by Google AdMob, in exchange for exporting a report or opening a saved custom remote. To serve these, Google's advertising SDK may collect a device advertising identifier and standard ad-delivery information, as described in Google's own privacy policy. In regions that require it you are asked for consent before any personalised ad is shown, and you may choose non-personalised ads instead.
The one-time in-app purchase removes all advertising. The developer of Easy BACnet receives only aggregate, anonymous earnings reports from AdMob and never sees your personal data.
While you are actively using it, Easy BACnet reads technical information from BACnet devices on the network you are connected to: device names and ID numbers, IP addresses, point names, present values, engineering units, status flags, and descriptions.
This information is held in the phone's memory only for as long as the app is running, and is not sent anywhere. Closing the app discards it.
When you tap Export BACnet Results, the app writes a CSV file into its own private cache folder on your device and attaches it to a new message in whichever email app you choose. Two things are worth being clear about:
Cached export files are stored in the app's private storage, are not readable by other apps, and are removed when you clear the app's cache or uninstall the app.
Easy BACnet is free to use. On the free version you can keep one custom remote, and exporting a report or opening a saved remote plays a short rewarded video ad. A single one-time purchase removes the ads and lets you build as many remotes as you like. That purchase is handled entirely by Google Play. The app never sees or stores a card number, a billing address, or a name — it receives only a yes-or-no answer from Google about whether the unlock has been bought, and records that answer on the device.
Google's handling of the transaction is covered by the Google Privacy Policy, not this one.
INTERNET — opens the local UDP socket used to speak the BACnet/IP protocol. Despite the name, this permission is what Android requires for any network socket, including local-only ones.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — checks whether the phone is on a network before starting a scan.ACCESS_WIFI_STATE — reads the Wi-Fi network's broadcast address so the Who-Is message reaches the right subnet.CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE — allows the phone to receive the broadcast replies that BACnet devices send back. Android filters these out by default. The app requests no runtime permissions, so there are no permission prompts to accept.
Easy BACnet is a professional tool for building-automation work. It is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
