Daikin Applied MicroTech III WSHP Controller - SmartSource / Enfinity Large Two Compressor BACnet points list

Updated 28 October 2026

Short answer

SmartSource and Enfinity Large two-compressor heat pumps use a MicroTech III controller (with I/O expansion) that joins BACnet MS/TP through the BACnet communication module. Compared with the single-stage list it adds interstage timers, hydronic and low-EWT setpoints, extra heating stages, fan speed and runtime totalizers, humidistat and fan status inputs. A few objects carry different names on SmartSource and Enfinity Large units.

This page lists 77 BACnet objects for the Daikin Applied MicroTech III WSHP Controller - SmartSource / Enfinity Large Two Compressor — 53 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from Daikin Applied’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: Daikin Applied MicroTech III WSHP Controller - SmartSource / Enfinity Large Two Compressor

Integration in brief

Join the heat pump to the MS/TP trunk with a unique MAC and instance, then command occupancy and application mode and supply the space temperature or setpoint from the BMS if needed. Use Receive Heartbeat if overrides must fall back when the BMS goes quiet.

Minimum points to map

The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

ObjectNameWhyAccess
MV 7OccManCmdOccupancy override from the BMSCommand
MV 10ApplicModeApplication mode (Auto/Heat/Cool/Off/Fan Only/Dehumid)Command

MV 4McQWSHPStatusUnit operating statusRead
AV 22EffectSpaceTempSpace temperature used for controlRead
AI 2LWTLeaving water temperatureRead
MV 2CurrentAlarmHighest-priority active alarmRead

Enable & remote start

No local/remote switch is described. Network override objects take effect when written: Application Mode Input (MV 10) selects Auto/Heat/Cool/Off/Fan Only/Dehumid, Occupancy Override Input (MV 7) and Occupancy Scheduler Input (MV 8) set occupancy, and Compressor Enable Input (MV 1) permits compressor operation. Overrides revert to their default (Null) values after a controller reboot.

Heartbeat & communication loss

Receive Heartbeat (AV 20, cpRcvHrtBt, 0-6553.4 s, default 0 = disabled) is the maximum time a supported override may go without being rewritten before it reverts to its default. Each supported point has its own timer: AV 18, AV 35, MV 1, MV 8, MV 9, MV 10, MV 11 and MV 12. Send Heartbeat is not supported by the BACnet module; use COV instead.

Sensors & values from the BMS

Write the space temperature to Space Temperature Input (AV 18); Effective Space Temperature (AV 22) uses the local AI 1 sensor unless AV 18 holds a valid value. Temperature Setpoint Input (AV 19) sets the reference setpoint for Occupied/Standby, but local setpoint adjust must first be disabled with MV 14. Temperature Setpoint Offset Input (AV 35) shifts the occupied/standby setpoints. Occupancy Sensor Input (MV 9) accepts a network occupancy sensor. Humidistat Remote Input (MV 16) and Fan ON/Auto Remote Input (MV 3) override the local humidistat and fan switch.

Integration notes

Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the MicroTech III WSHP Controller - SmartSource / Enfinity Large Two Compressor and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. Questions about the Daikin Applied MicroTech III WSHP Controller - SmartSource / Enfinity Large Two Compressor

How many BACnet points does the Daikin Applied MicroTech III WSHP Controller - SmartSource / Enfinity Large Two Compressor have?

This list has 77 BACnet objects: 8 analog inputs, 45 analog values, 1 binary input, 2 binary values, 5 multi-state inputs, 16 multi-state values. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.

Which Daikin Applied MicroTech III WSHP Controller - SmartSource / Enfinity Large Two Compressor BACnet points are writable?

53 of the 77 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done.

Where is the official Daikin Applied MicroTech III WSHP Controller - SmartSource / Enfinity Large Two Compressor BACnet documentation?

The source is MicroTech III Water Source Heat Pump Unit Controller Protocol Information (ED 15103-9), revision 2021-08, published free by Daikin Applied at https://tahoeweb.daikinapplied.com/api/general/DownloadDocumentByName/media/MicroTech%20III%20WSHP%20Unit%20Controller%20Protocol%20Information%20Daikin%20ED%2015103.pdf.

What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the Daikin Applied MicroTech III WSHP Controller - SmartSource / Enfinity Large Two Compressor?

Start with MV 7 OccManCmd (Occupancy override from the BMS); MV 10 ApplicMode (Application mode (Auto/Heat/Cool/Off/Fan Only/Dehumid)); AV 19 Setpoint (Network reference setpoint); BV 1 ClearAlarm (Clear the current alarm); MV 4 McQWSHPStatus (Unit operating status); AV 22 EffectSpaceTemp (Space temperature used for control); AI 2 LWT (Leaving water temperature); MV 2 CurrentAlarm (Highest-priority active alarm).

How do I enable BMS control of the Daikin Applied MicroTech III WSHP Controller - SmartSource / Enfinity Large Two Compressor?

No local/remote switch is described. Network override objects take effect when written: Application Mode Input (MV 10) selects Auto/Heat/Cool/Off/Fan Only/Dehumid, Occupancy Override Input (MV 7) and Occupancy Scheduler Input (MV 8) set occupancy, and Compressor Enable Input (MV 1) permits compressor operation. Overrides revert to their default (Null) values after a controller reboot.

Does the Daikin Applied MicroTech III WSHP Controller - SmartSource / Enfinity Large Two Compressor need a BACnet heartbeat or have a communication timeout?

Receive Heartbeat (AV 20, cpRcvHrtBt, 0-6553.4 s, default 0 = disabled) is the maximum time a supported override may go without being rewritten before it reverts to its default. Each supported point has its own timer: AV 18, AV 35, MV 1, MV 8, MV 9, MV 10, MV 11 and MV 12. Send Heartbeat is not supported by the BACnet module; use COV instead.

Can the BMS supply sensor values to the Daikin Applied MicroTech III WSHP Controller - SmartSource / Enfinity Large Two Compressor?

Write the space temperature to Space Temperature Input (AV 18); Effective Space Temperature (AV 22) uses the local AI 1 sensor unless AV 18 holds a valid value. Temperature Setpoint Input (AV 19) sets the reference setpoint for Occupied/Standby, but local setpoint adjust must first be disabled with MV 14. Temperature Setpoint Offset Input (AV 35) shifts the occupied/standby setpoints. Occupancy Sensor Input (MV 9) accepts a network occupancy sensor. Humidistat Remote Input (MV 16) and Fan ON/Auto Remote Input (MV 3) override the local humidistat and fan switch.

How do I check these points on the real MicroTech III WSHP Controller - SmartSource / Enfinity Large Two Compressor?

Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
