Neptronic SKE4 BACnet points list

Updated 28 October 2026

Short answer

The SKE4 is an electric element steam humidifier whose controller has BACnet MS/TP and BACnet IP built in. It publishes a large fixed object list: analog inputs, demand and RH readings, control source selections, network demand and high-limit inputs, service counters, alarms, relays and schedules.

This page lists 187 BACnet objects for the Neptronic SKE4 — 131 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from Neptronic’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: Neptronic SKE4

Integration in brief

Pick a network control profile (MSV 28 = ExternNetwork or InternNetwork) or set the demand source MSV 43 to Network, then write the demand to AV 138 (or room RH to AV 106 with a setpoint in AV 107 for internal control). Use MSV 83 to switch the system on/off and watch MSV 60, MSV 64 and BV 46.

Minimum points to map

The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

Enable & remote start

MSV 83 System Power State is writable (1 = Off, 2 = On). Control comes from the source selected by MSV 28 Control Profile or, with the Custom profile, by MSV 43 Humidity Control Demand Source (4 = Network); hard-wired interlock, airflow and high-limit contacts still cut out the unit (MSV 51).

Heartbeat & communication loss

AV 242 Network Timeout (1-900 s) sets how long the humidifier tolerates loss of BACnet control communication before it stops operating; BV 46 Network Control State shows 1 = Fault. Keep refreshing the network demand/readings while any source is set to Network.

Sensors & values from the BMS

Set MSV 33 Room RH Source = Network and write room RH to AV 106; set MSV 38 Supply High Limit Reading Source = Network and write duct RH to AV 122. Setpoints are AV 107 (occupied), AV 108 (unoccupied), AV 109 (vacant) and AV 123 (supply high limit). Direct demand goes to AV 138 and a network high limit to AV 139.

Integration notes

Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the SKE4 and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. New to BACnet? Start with what a BACnet points list is and what the object types mean.

Questions about the Neptronic SKE4

How many BACnet points does the Neptronic SKE4 have?

This list has 187 BACnet objects: 11 analog inputs, 2 analog outputs, 75 analog values, 10 binary inputs, 15 binary outputs, 19 binary values, 5 files, 2 schedules, 30 multi-state values, 7 characterstring values, 11 others. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.

Which Neptronic SKE4 BACnet points are writable?

131 of the 187 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done.

Where is the official Neptronic SKE4 BACnet documentation?

The source is SKE4 Steam Humidifier BACnet Communication Module User Guide (SKE4-BACnet Guide-230616 (V2.07)), revision 2023-06-16, published free by Neptronic at https://www.neptronic.com/Humidifiers/PDF/SKE4/Manuals/2023/SKE4-BACnet%20Guide-230616%20(V2.07).pdf.

What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the Neptronic SKE4?

Start with MV 83 System Power State (System on/off from the BMS); MV 28 Control Profile (Control profile: choose a Network profile); AV 138 Humidity Control Network Demand (Network humidity demand written by the BMS); AV 107 Room RH Setpoint (Occupied room RH setpoint (internal control)); AV 106 Room RH Network Reading (Network room RH reading for internal control); MV 60 Boiler State (Humidifier operating state); AV 149 Boiler Power Output (Actual steam output of the humidifier %); MV 64 Boiler Alarm (Active alarm); BV 46 Network Control State (1 = fault: network control lost (AV 242 timeout)).

How do I enable BMS control of the Neptronic SKE4?

MSV 83 System Power State is writable (1 = Off, 2 = On). Control comes from the source selected by MSV 28 Control Profile or, with the Custom profile, by MSV 43 Humidity Control Demand Source (4 = Network); hard-wired interlock, airflow and high-limit contacts still cut out the unit (MSV 51).

Does the Neptronic SKE4 need a BACnet heartbeat or have a communication timeout?

AV 242 Network Timeout (1-900 s) sets how long the humidifier tolerates loss of BACnet control communication before it stops operating; BV 46 Network Control State shows 1 = Fault. Keep refreshing the network demand/readings while any source is set to Network.

Can the BMS supply sensor values to the Neptronic SKE4?

Set MSV 33 Room RH Source = Network and write room RH to AV 106; set MSV 38 Supply High Limit Reading Source = Network and write duct RH to AV 122. Setpoints are AV 107 (occupied), AV 108 (unoccupied), AV 109 (vacant) and AV 123 (supply high limit). Direct demand goes to AV 138 and a network high limit to AV 139.

How do I check these points on the real SKE4?

Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
