WaterFurnace Aurora HydroLink for NXW/SKW Water-to-Water Heat Pumps BACnet points list

Updated 28 October 2026

Short answer

BACnet objects of the Aurora HydroLink controller for NXW/SKW dual-compressor water-to-water heat pumps, software version 1.03. It covers setpoint, aquastat or network control of both compressors, load and source water temperatures and limits, refrigerant data per compressor, and header rack valve and loop control. Each point is marked for the configurations it applies to.

This page lists 213 BACnet objects for the WaterFurnace Aurora HydroLink for NXW/SKW Water-to-Water Heat Pumps — 118 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from WaterFurnace’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: WaterFurnace Aurora HydroLink for NXW/SKW Water-to-Water Heat Pumps

Integration in brief

For units without a header rack, pick the control method on MSV 2 (aquastat, setpoint, network or setpoint with enable). In setpoint mode the HydroLink holds AV 22/23 against the input chosen on MSV 3; in network mode the BAS calls compressor A on BV 35 and B on BV 34. BV 37 must stay Enabled, and the BAS should set BV 36 to Network while it has control.

Minimum points to map

The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

ObjectNameWhyAccess
BV 37SystemEnable_cSystem enable; compressors stay off when DisabledCommand
BV 36NetworkControl_cSet to Network while the BAS has controlCommand
BV 2EmShutdown_cNetwork emergency shutdownCommand
BV 1Mode_cCool or heat (non-header-rack units)Command
AV 22CoolingSetpoint_cCooling setpoint, setpoint control modeCommand
AV 23HeatingSetpoint_cHeating setpoint, setpoint control modeCommand
BV 33AlarmReset_cAlarm reset; return to Normal after the lockout clearsCommand
MV 1UnitMode_stCurrent operating modeRead
AV 1ControlTemp_stControl temperature (input chosen on MSV 3)Read
MV 0SystemStatus_stOverall status: normal, alarm, shutdown, load shed...Read

Enable & remote start

BV 37 SystemEnable_c (default Enabled) must be Enabled, or the compressor outputs stay off except under manual override. The BAS should set BV 36 NetworkControl_c to Network when it takes control; many local commands and settings then stop working. With MSV 2 = 3 (Network), BV 35 and BV 34 call compressors A and B; BV 1 picks cool or heat. BV 2 EmShutdown_c forces an emergency shutdown.

Sensors & values from the BMS

AV 62 NetworkTemperature_c is the BAS-supplied control temperature for setpoint control on a network temperature (MSV 3 option 4, which the sheet labels AV 12). Header rack units take BAS cold, hot and geo loop temperatures on AV 506-508; values written to AV 510-515 take priority over the measured header temperatures. BV 503 switches the geothermal loop temperatures to network values.

Integration notes

Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the Aurora HydroLink for NXW/SKW Water-to-Water Heat Pumps and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. New to BACnet? Start with what a BACnet points list is and what the object types mean.

Questions about the WaterFurnace Aurora HydroLink for NXW/SKW Water-to-Water Heat Pumps

How many BACnet points does the WaterFurnace Aurora HydroLink for NXW/SKW Water-to-Water Heat Pumps have?

This list has 213 BACnet objects: 144 analog values, 54 binary values, 15 multi-state values. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.

Which WaterFurnace Aurora HydroLink for NXW/SKW Water-to-Water Heat Pumps BACnet points are writable?

118 of the 213 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done.

Where is the official WaterFurnace Aurora HydroLink for NXW/SKW Water-to-Water Heat Pumps BACnet documentation?

The source is Aurora HydroLink BACnet Points List For NXW/SKW (PL2500EW), revision 2018-02, published free by WaterFurnace at https://www.waterfurnace.com/literature/aurora/pl2500ew.pdf.

What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the WaterFurnace Aurora HydroLink for NXW/SKW Water-to-Water Heat Pumps?

Start with BV 37 SystemEnable_c (System enable; compressors stay off when Disabled); BV 36 NetworkControl_c (Set to Network while the BAS has control); BV 2 EmShutdown_c (Network emergency shutdown); BV 1 Mode_c (Cool or heat (non-header-rack units)); AV 22 CoolingSetpoint_c (Cooling setpoint, setpoint control mode); AV 23 HeatingSetpoint_c (Heating setpoint, setpoint control mode); BV 33 AlarmReset_c (Alarm reset; return to Normal after the lockout clears); MV 1 UnitMode_st (Current operating mode); AV 1 ControlTemp_st (Control temperature (input chosen on MSV 3)); MV 0 SystemStatus_st (Overall status: normal, alarm, shutdown, load shed).

How do I enable BMS control of the WaterFurnace Aurora HydroLink for NXW/SKW Water-to-Water Heat Pumps?

BV 37 SystemEnable_c (default Enabled) must be Enabled, or the compressor outputs stay off except under manual override. The BAS should set BV 36 NetworkControl_c to Network when it takes control; many local commands and settings then stop working. With MSV 2 = 3 (Network), BV 35 and BV 34 call compressors A and B; BV 1 picks cool or heat. BV 2 EmShutdown_c forces an emergency shutdown.

Can the BMS supply sensor values to the WaterFurnace Aurora HydroLink for NXW/SKW Water-to-Water Heat Pumps?

AV 62 NetworkTemperature_c is the BAS-supplied control temperature for setpoint control on a network temperature (MSV 3 option 4, which the sheet labels AV 12). Header rack units take BAS cold, hot and geo loop temperatures on AV 506-508; values written to AV 510-515 take priority over the measured header temperatures. BV 503 switches the geothermal loop temperatures to network values.

How do I check these points on the real Aurora HydroLink for NXW/SKW Water-to-Water Heat Pumps?

Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
