Air-cooled variable-speed screw chiller (via E-Link gateway) · BACnet points list

York YVAA / YVFA / YAGK E-Link (YorkTalk 2) BACnet points list

Updated 28 October 2026

Short answer

Before the SC-EQ card, YORK by Johnson Controls YVAA-family chillers reached a BAS through the E-Link gateway, which reads the microboard over YorkTalk 2 (4800 baud) and serves BACnet, N2, LON and Modbus objects. Objects are named by YorkTalk page (YT2_S01_P03 and so on). Section 1 holds the remote commands and core chiller data; section 2 (instances from 101) holds free cooling, Aggreko, power and option points that depend on the microboard program.

This page lists 114 BACnet objects for the York YVAA / YVFA / YAGK E-Link (YorkTalk 2) — 5 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from York’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: York YVAA / YVFA / YAGK E-Link (YorkTalk 2)

Integration in brief

Put the chiller in remote control (BV 20 reads Remote), then start/stop it with BV 1 and write the remote setpoint (AV 1) and current limit (AV 2) through the E-Link. Read BV 5 for chiller run, the leaving chilled liquid temperature and VSD frequency, and BV 6 for the chiller alarm.

Minimum points to map

The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

Enable & remote start

BV 20 shows Local or Remote control mode. The sheet gives no point to change it and no write-enable point.

Heartbeat & communication loss

Operational code 67 is 'Loss of External Communications'; the sheet gives no timeout or heartbeat point.

Integration notes

Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the YVAA / YVFA / YAGK E-Link (YorkTalk 2) and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. New to BACnet? Start with what a BACnet points list is and what the object types mean.

Questions about the York YVAA / YVFA / YAGK E-Link (YorkTalk 2)

How many BACnet points does the York YVAA / YVFA / YAGK E-Link (YorkTalk 2) have?

This list has 114 BACnet objects: 63 analog values, 35 binary values, 16 multi-state values. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.

Which York YVAA / YVFA / YAGK E-Link (YorkTalk 2) BACnet points are writable?

5 of the 114 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done.

Where is the official York YVAA / YVFA / YAGK E-Link (YorkTalk 2) BACnet documentation?

The source is YVAA, YVFA, YAGK York Talk 2 (E-Link) points list, boards 031-02478 / 031-03478, revision 2021-04-16 (program Y.ACS.20.18), published free by York at https://docs.johnsoncontrols.com/chillers/api/khub/documents/HryI9wyjlbuFpbuVIk9XrA/content.

What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the York YVAA / YVFA / YAGK E-Link (YorkTalk 2)?

Start with BV 1 YT2_S01_P07 (Remote start/stop (1 = run)); AV 1 YT2_S01_P03 (Remote leaving chilled liquid setpoint); AV 2 YT2_S01_P04 (Remote current limit, %); BV 20 YT2_S01_P51 (Must read Remote (1) for BMS control); BV 5 YT2_S01_P36 (Chiller running); AV 5 YT2_S01_P11 (Leaving chilled liquid temperature); AV 27 YT2_S01_P33 (Compressor VSD frequency (load indication)); BV 6 YT2_S01_P37 (Chiller alarm (1 = alarm)).

How do I enable BMS control of the York YVAA / YVFA / YAGK E-Link (YorkTalk 2)?

BV 20 shows Local or Remote control mode. The sheet gives no point to change it and no write-enable point.

Does the York YVAA / YVFA / YAGK E-Link (YorkTalk 2) need a BACnet heartbeat or have a communication timeout?

Operational code 67 is 'Loss of External Communications'; the sheet gives no timeout or heartbeat point.

How do I check these points on the real YVAA / YVFA / YAGK E-Link (YorkTalk 2)?

Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
