York YT Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ) BACnet points list
Updated 28 October 2026
YORK by Johnson Controls YT centrifugal chillers reach a BAS through the SC-EQ communication card, which serves BACnet MS/TP (or Modbus RTU / N2) and replaced the older E-Link gateway. The SC-EQ list has four remote commands (start/stop, leaving chilled liquid setpoint, current limit, VSD fixed-speed select), temperatures, pressures, starter and VSD values, and multistate operation, safety, cycling and warning codes with matching analog copies.
This page lists 71 BACnet objects for the York YT Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ) — 5 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from York’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: York YT Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ)
Start and stop it with BV 1 and write the leaving chilled liquid setpoint (AV 1) and current limit (AV 2). Read MV 1 for the operating state, BV 5 for motor run, the leaving water temperature and % FLA, and MV 2/MV 3 for safety and cycling shutdowns.
Minimum points to map
The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.
| Object | Name | Why | Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| BV 1 | REM START STOP CMD | Remote start/stop (1 = start) | Command |
| AV 1 | REM LEAVING CHL TEMP SP | Remote leaving chilled liquid setpoint | Command |
| AV 2 | REMOTE CURRENT SP | Remote motor current limit, % | Command |
| MV 1 | UNIT OPERATION CODE | Operating state (stopped, starting, running) | Read |
| BV 5 | COMPR MOTOR STATUS | Compressor motor running | Read |
| MV 5 | UNIT CONTROL SOURCE | Control source; ISN (BAS) for BMS control | Read |
| AV 5 | LEAVING CH LIQ TEMP | Leaving chilled liquid temperature | Read |
| AV 12 | MOTOR CURRENT PCT FLA | Motor current, % FLA (load indication) | Read |
| MV 2 | UNIT SAFETY FAULT CODE | Safety shutdown code (1 = none) | Read |
| MV 3 | UNIT CYCLING FAULT CODE | Cycling shutdown code (1 = none) | Read |
Enable & remote start
BV 1 REM START STOP CMD (0 = Stop, 1 = Start) is the BAS start/stop, and AV 1-2 are the remote setpoints. MV 5 Unit Control Source shows Local, ISN (BAS), Analog, Digital or Modem; check it reads ISN (BAS). The points list has no write-enable point and doesn't say how the source is chosen at the chiller panel.
Network setup
- The BAS connects to the SC-EQ J12 port (RS-485: +, -, COM/REF, SHLD). The card detects BACnet MS/TP, Modbus RTU or N2 and the baud rate by itself; allow up to 120 seconds after power-up.
- The MAC address (1-127) is set on DIP switch SW1 (switch 8 unused). Cycle the card's power after changing it.
- The device instance defaults to 5000 + the MAC address (MAC 6 gives 5006). To use another number, set Device Instance Mode to Manual and enter the instance with the SC-AP / MAP tool, or write BV 65000 (mode) and AV 65000 (instance ID).
- MV 65001 Units sets whether the BAS sees IP or SI values, independent of the chiller display; set it to match the chiller.
Watch out for
- The remote (commandable) setpoints read as unreliable until the BAS writes them the first time.
- The SC-EQ only exposes the points that apply to the chiller it detects; if it replaces an E-Link, re-discover the device so old non-applicable points don't sit offline.
- Starter type changes what several AVs mean (see notes); check the starter before trending AV 13-15, 35 and 36.

Integration notes
- Access is inferred: the sheet has no read/write column. The remote block (AV 1-2, BV 1, BV 3) is treated as commandable and MV 65001 as writable; everything else as read-only.
- Some instances depend on the starter: AV 13-15, AV 35, AV 36, AV 121 and AV 122 carry VSD values on VSD units and solid-state or electro-mechanical starter values otherwise. These are merged into one row each.
- Status-code MVs (operation, fault, warning, modified run, start inhibit, internal fault) are the printed code + 1, as the doc's status code tables say; the AV copies (AV 401 and up) carry the raw code. MVs with their own enum in the points table (Units, control sources) are shown as printed, from 0; BACnet multistate values start at 1, so the card may report the printed number + 1. Confirm by discovery.
- Units shown are the IP units; with MV 65001 set to SI the card reports °C, kPa and so on.
- Operating hours and kWh are also split into low/offset pairs (value = offset x 10,000 + low).
Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the YT Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ) and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. New to BACnet? Start with what a BACnet points list is and what the object types mean.
Questions about the York YT Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ)
How many BACnet points does the York YT Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ) have?
This list has 71 BACnet objects: 53 analog values, 12 binary values, 6 multi-state values. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.
Which York YT Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ) BACnet points are writable?
5 of the 71 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done. The source has no read/write column, so this is inferred from object type.
Where is the official York YT Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ) BACnet documentation?
The source is YT SC-EQ BAS Points List, revision Rev 2.5, 2021-12-08, published free by York at https://docs.johnsoncontrols.com/chillers/api/khub/documents/qySCXKFcGaJK93xZ8jJBmA/content.
What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the York YT Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ)?
Start with BV 1 REM START STOP CMD (Remote start/stop (1 = start)); AV 1 REM LEAVING CHL TEMP SP (Remote leaving chilled liquid setpoint); AV 2 REMOTE CURRENT SP (Remote motor current limit, %); MV 1 UNIT OPERATION CODE (Operating state (stopped, starting, running)); BV 5 COMPR MOTOR STATUS (Compressor motor running); MV 5 UNIT CONTROL SOURCE (Control source; ISN (BAS) for BMS control); AV 5 LEAVING CH LIQ TEMP (Leaving chilled liquid temperature); AV 12 MOTOR CURRENT PCT FLA (Motor current, % FLA (load indication)); MV 2 UNIT SAFETY FAULT CODE (Safety shutdown code (1 = none)); MV 3 UNIT CYCLING FAULT CODE (Cycling shutdown code (1 = none)).
How do I enable BMS control of the York YT Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ)?
BV 1 REM START STOP CMD (0 = Stop, 1 = Start) is the BAS start/stop, and AV 1-2 are the remote setpoints. MV 5 Unit Control Source shows Local, ISN (BAS), Analog, Digital or Modem; check it reads ISN (BAS). The points list has no write-enable point and doesn't say how the source is chosen at the chiller panel.
How do I check these points on the real YT Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ)?
Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
