York YD Dual-Compressor Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ) BACnet points list

Updated 28 October 2026

Short answer

The YD's SC-EQ card puts the chiller on a BACnet MS/TP trunk (or Modbus RTU / N2). Most motor, vane, oil and drive points come in #1/#2 pairs, one per compressor. Besides run/stop and the setpoints, the BAS can write the compressor operation mode (staged, single, dual) and lock out one compressor.

This page lists 150 BACnet objects for the York YD Dual-Compressor Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ) — 6 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from York’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: York YD Dual-Compressor Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ)

Integration in brief

Wire the BAS to the SC-EQ J12 RS-485 port, set the MAC address on the DIP switch and let the card detect BACnet MS/TP. Write the remote run/stop, leaving chilled liquid setpoint and current limit (optionally the compressor mode and lockout), then read both motor run states, the operation code, leaving chilled liquid temperature, % FLA and the safety fault code.

Minimum points to map

The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

Enable & remote start

BV 1 REM RUN STOP CMD (0 = Stop, 1 = Run) is the BAS run/stop, and AV 1-4 are the remote setpoints and compressor mode/lockout. MV 8 Unit Control Source reports Local, ISN (BAS), Analog, Digital, Modem or Remote. The YD list has no per-function source points and no write-enable point, and it doesn't say how the source is chosen at the chiller panel.

Integration notes

Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the YD Dual-Compressor Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ) and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. New to BACnet? Start with what a BACnet points list is and what the object types mean.

Questions about the York YD Dual-Compressor Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ)

How many BACnet points does the York YD Dual-Compressor Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ) have?

This list has 150 BACnet objects: 114 analog values, 27 binary values, 9 multi-state values. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.

Which York YD Dual-Compressor Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ) BACnet points are writable?

6 of the 150 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done. The source has no read/write column, so this is inferred from object type.

Where is the official York YD Dual-Compressor Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ) BACnet documentation?

The source is YD SC-EQ BAS Points List, revision Rev 2.4, 2021-12-08, published free by York at https://docs.johnsoncontrols.com/chillers/api/khub/documents/ryVLb5Rnf89iVUfsCgygZw/content.

What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the York YD Dual-Compressor Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ)?

Start with BV 1 REM RUN STOP CMD (Remote run/stop (1 = run)); AV 1 REM LEAVING CHL TEMP SP (Remote leaving chilled liquid setpoint); AV 2 REMOTE CURRENT SP (Remote motor current limit, %); MV 1 UNIT OPERATION CODE (Operating state (stopped, starting, running)); BV 5 COMPR MOTOR STATUS 1 (Compressor 1 motor running); BV 6 COMPR MOTOR STATUS 2 (Compressor 2 motor running); MV 8 UNIT CONTROL SOURCE (Control source; ISN (BAS) for BMS control); AV 5 LEAVING CH LIQ TEMP (Leaving chilled liquid temperature); AV 13 MOTOR CURRENT FLA 1 (Compressor 1 motor current, % FLA); MV 2 UNIT SAFETY FAULT CODE (Safety shutdown code (1 = none)).

How do I enable BMS control of the York YD Dual-Compressor Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ)?

BV 1 REM RUN STOP CMD (0 = Stop, 1 = Run) is the BAS run/stop, and AV 1-4 are the remote setpoints and compressor mode/lockout. MV 8 Unit Control Source reports Local, ISN (BAS), Analog, Digital, Modem or Remote. The YD list has no per-function source points and no write-enable point, and it doesn't say how the source is chosen at the chiller panel.

How do I check these points on the real YD Dual-Compressor Centrifugal Chiller (SC-EQ)?

Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
