Belimo Thermal Energy Meter V4 BACnet points list

Updated 28 October 2026

Short answer

The Belimo Thermal Energy Meter combines an ultrasonic flow sensor with supply and return temperature sensors to measure heating and cooling power and energy in hydronic circuits. It offers BACnet MS/TP and BACnet IP (with foreign-device registration). It is a read-only metering device apart from unit selection, meter-register choice and the extra sensor input settings.

This page lists 35 BACnet objects for the Belimo Thermal Energy Meter V4 — 8 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from Belimo’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: Belimo Thermal Energy Meter V4

Integration in brief

Set the units once (MV 123-127), then read heating and cooling power and energy, flow and the two temperatures. Use the PIV energy objects if the BMS prefers integer totals. Watch MV 99 and AV 140 for faults.

Minimum points to map

The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

Integration notes

Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the Thermal Energy Meter V4 and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. New to BACnet? Start with what a BACnet points list is and what the object types mean.

Questions about the Belimo Thermal Energy Meter V4

How many BACnet points does the Belimo Thermal Energy Meter V4 have?

This list has 35 BACnet objects: 4 analog inputs, 12 analog values, 1 binary input, 1 binary value, 12 multi-state values, 5 positive integer values. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.

Which Belimo Thermal Energy Meter V4 BACnet points are writable?

8 of the 35 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done.

Where is the official Belimo Thermal Energy Meter V4 BACnet documentation?

The source is BACnet Interface Description, Thermal Energy Meter (TEM), DN 15...50 (Version 4), revision 2025-11 / V4.2.0, published free by Belimo at https://www.belimo.com/mam/general-documents/system_integration/BACnet/belimo_BACnet_Interface-description_TEM_V4_2_en-gb.pdf.

What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the Belimo Thermal Energy Meter V4?

Start with AV 48 HeatingEnergy_UnitSel (Heating energy total); AV 47 CoolingEnergy_UnitSel (Cooling energy total); AV 46 HeatingPower_UnitSel (Heating power delivered; units set by MV 124); AV 45 CoolingPower_UnitSel (Cooling power delivered; units set by MV 124); AV 19 AbsFlow_UnitSel (Measured flow); AI 22 T1_UnitSel (Remote temperature); AI 23 T2_UnitSel (Flow body temperature); MV 99 SummaryStatus (Overall OK / warning / not OK); AV 140 ErrorState (Bit-coded fault and warning flags).

How do I check these points on the real Thermal Energy Meter V4?

Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
