Siemens RDY2000BN BACnet Commercial Thermostat (Applications 14900 / 14901) BACnet points list

Updated 28 October 2026

Short answer

The RDY2000BN is a touchscreen commercial thermostat with BACnet MS/TP built in. It stages up to three cooling and three heating stages from its relays, has four configurable inputs and three configurable auxiliary outputs, and holds its own weekly schedule. The conventional (14900) and heat pump (14901) applications expose the same 136 objects; SystemType selects between them.

This page lists 136 BACnet objects for the Siemens RDY2000BN BACnet Commercial Thermostat (Applications 14900 / 14901) — 87 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from Siemens’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: Siemens RDY2000BN BACnet Commercial Thermostat (Applications 14900 / 14901)

Integration in brief

Set the MS/TP MAC address and baud rate, then command the system mode with HeatCoolMode (MV 23) and occupancy with SchedMode (MV 24), and adjust the comfort setpoints. Read the effective mode, room operating mode and IndoorTmpEff for status, and ExtFault and OverCurrent for alarms. Write at a priority higher than 16.

Minimum points to map

The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

MV 23HeatCoolModeCool, heat, auto or off; factory default is OffCommand
MV 24SchedModeComfort, economy or protect (occupancy)Command

Enable & remote start

HeatCoolMode (MV 23) is the system mode command; its factory Relinquish_Default is Off, so the unit will not heat or cool until it is commanded or the default is changed. SchedMode (MV 24) sets Comfort, Economy or Protect; the internal schedule writes it too, and an occupancy input forces Comfort.

Sensors & values from the BMS

A universal input can be set as a voltage input, taken out of service and written from the network, so a BMS value can stand in for a physical sensor (for example IndoorTmpRmt with Input1-4 = InTemRem). IndoorTmpEff then uses that value alone or averaged with the built-in sensor.

Integration notes

Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the RDY2000BN BACnet Commercial Thermostat (Applications 14900 / 14901) and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. New to BACnet? Start with what a BACnet points list is and what the object types mean.

Questions about the Siemens RDY2000BN BACnet Commercial Thermostat (Applications 14900 / 14901)

How many BACnet points does the Siemens RDY2000BN BACnet Commercial Thermostat (Applications 14900 / 14901) have?

This list has 136 BACnet objects: 10 analog inputs, 54 analog values, 4 binary inputs, 9 binary outputs, 30 binary values, 1 device, 1 schedule, 27 multi-state values. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.

Which Siemens RDY2000BN BACnet Commercial Thermostat (Applications 14900 / 14901) BACnet points are writable?

87 of the 136 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done.

Where is the official Siemens RDY2000BN BACnet Commercial Thermostat (Applications 14900 / 14901) BACnet documentation?

The source is RDY2000BN BACnet Thermostat Conventional Application 14900 Application Note (140-1231), revision 2020-02-11, published free by Siemens at https://sid.siemens.com/api/khub/documents/PprfbVmiVmRd48QjJgoa~Q/content.

What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the Siemens RDY2000BN BACnet Commercial Thermostat (Applications 14900 / 14901)?

Start with MV 23 HeatCoolMode (Cool, heat, auto or off; factory default is Off); MV 24 SchedMode (Comfort, economy or protect (occupancy)); BV 0 FanMode (Fan Auto or Manual); AV 32 ComfortClgSP (Occupied cooling setpoint); AV 33 ComfortHtgSP (Occupied heating setpoint); MV 25 ModeEff (Current mode: cooling, heating or off); MV 26 RM OP MODE (Current room operating mode); AV 52 IndoorTmpEff (Room temperature used for control); BV 18 ExtFault (External fault input active); BV 25 OverCurrent (Relays shut off on overcurrent).

How do I enable BMS control of the Siemens RDY2000BN BACnet Commercial Thermostat (Applications 14900 / 14901)?

HeatCoolMode (MV 23) is the system mode command; its factory Relinquish_Default is Off, so the unit will not heat or cool until it is commanded or the default is changed. SchedMode (MV 24) sets Comfort, Economy or Protect; the internal schedule writes it too, and an occupancy input forces Comfort.

Can the BMS supply sensor values to the Siemens RDY2000BN BACnet Commercial Thermostat (Applications 14900 / 14901)?

A universal input can be set as a voltage input, taken out of service and written from the network, so a BMS value can stand in for a physical sensor (for example IndoorTmpRmt with Input1-4 = InTemRem). IndoorTmpEff then uses that value alone or averaged with the built-in sensor.

How do I check these points on the real RDY2000BN BACnet Commercial Thermostat (Applications 14900 / 14901)?

Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
