Siemens BACnet PTEC VAV Controller - Application 6659 (VAV / Chilled Beam with CO2 Demand Control Ventilation) BACnet points list

Updated 28 October 2026

Short answer

Application 6659 runs a VAV box or chilled beam on a Siemens BACnet PTEC controller over BACnet MS/TP, with four loops: cooling, heating, airflow and CO2. Airflow and the chilled water valve are sequenced in cooling, airflow and the hot water valve in heating, and each valve can be floating or 0-10 V. When room CO2 rises far enough above outdoor CO2 the box switches to ventilation mode and the coils hold temperature.

This page lists 126 BACnet objects for the Siemens BACnet PTEC VAV Controller - Application 6659 (VAV / Chilled Beam with CO2 Demand Control Ventilation) — 109 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. BMS integration notes: Siemens BACnet PTEC VAV Controller - Application 6659 (VAV / Chilled Beam with CO2 Demand Control Ventilation)

Integration in brief

Address the controller on the BACnet MS/TP trunk (manually or with auto addressing), then release the box to application control. The BMS commands occupancy with DAY.NGT (BO 29) and the day setpoints, and reads room temperature, airflow, valve positions, room CO2 and the error status. For demand control ventilation the field panel writes OUTDOOR CO2; for chilled beams it can close the chilled water valve with CHW DISABLE.

Minimum points to map

The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

Enable & remote start

Occupancy is DAY.NGT (BO 29). With a wall switch on DI 2 and WALL SWITCH (BO 18) = YES, the switch sets it; standalone with no switch the controller stays in day mode; on a network the field panel or BMS commands DAY.NGT. NGT OVRD (BO 21) shows a temporary night override from the room unit button.

Sensors & values from the BMS

OUTDOOR CO2 (AO 50) has no sensor input; the field panel (PPCL) or an operator must write it for demand control ventilation. RM CO2 can come from the room unit, PPCL or AI 3/AI 4 per CO2 CONFIG. CHW DISABLE (BO 37) = YES from the field panel closes the chilled water valve, e.g. on high dew point.

Integration notes

Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the BACnet PTEC VAV Controller - Application 6659 (VAV / Chilled Beam with CO2 Demand Control Ventilation) and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. Questions about the Siemens BACnet PTEC VAV Controller - Application 6659 (VAV / Chilled Beam with CO2 Demand Control Ventilation)

How many BACnet points does the Siemens BACnet PTEC VAV Controller - Application 6659 (VAV / Chilled Beam with CO2 Demand Control Ventilation) have?

This list has 126 BACnet objects: 11 analog inputs, 88 analog outputs, 6 binary inputs, 21 binary outputs. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.

Which Siemens BACnet PTEC VAV Controller - Application 6659 (VAV / Chilled Beam with CO2 Demand Control Ventilation) BACnet points are writable?

109 of the 126 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done. The source has no read/write column, so this is inferred from object type.

Where is the official Siemens BACnet PTEC VAV Controller - Application 6659 (VAV / Chilled Beam with CO2 Demand Control Ventilation) BACnet documentation?

The source is BACnet Programmable TEC Controller VAV Chilled Beam with Demand Control Ventilation (CO2) and Floating or Analog Output - Application 6659, Application Note (140-1194), revision 2015-01-09, published free by Siemens at https://sid.siemens.com/api/khub/documents/w_zj64eHuf3M_u6_tgTWIw/content.

What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the Siemens BACnet PTEC VAV Controller - Application 6659 (VAV / Chilled Beam with CO2 Demand Control Ventilation)?

Start with BO 29 DAY.NGT (DAY = occupied, NIGHT = unoccupied); AO 6 DAY CLG STPT (Occupied cooling setpoint, °F); AO 7 DAY HTG STPT (Occupied heating setpoint, °F); BO 5 HEAT.COOL (Current mode: HEAT or COOL); AI 4 ROOM TEMP (Space temperature); AI 35 AIR VOLUME (Measured box airflow, cfm); AO 39 C VLV POS (Chilled water valve position, %); AO 40 H VLV POS (Hot water valve position, %); AI 3 RM CO2 (Room CO2, ppm); AO 99 ERROR STATUS (Controller error code).

How do I enable BMS control of the Siemens BACnet PTEC VAV Controller - Application 6659 (VAV / Chilled Beam with CO2 Demand Control Ventilation)?

Occupancy is DAY.NGT (BO 29). With a wall switch on DI 2 and WALL SWITCH (BO 18) = YES, the switch sets it; standalone with no switch the controller stays in day mode; on a network the field panel or BMS commands DAY.NGT. NGT OVRD (BO 21) shows a temporary night override from the room unit button.

Can the BMS supply sensor values to the Siemens BACnet PTEC VAV Controller - Application 6659 (VAV / Chilled Beam with CO2 Demand Control Ventilation)?

OUTDOOR CO2 (AO 50) has no sensor input; the field panel (PPCL) or an operator must write it for demand control ventilation. RM CO2 can come from the room unit, PPCL or AI 3/AI 4 per CO2 CONFIG. CHW DISABLE (BO 37) = YES from the field panel closes the chilled water valve, e.g. on high dew point.

How do I check these points on the real BACnet PTEC VAV Controller - Application 6659 (VAV / Chilled Beam with CO2 Demand Control Ventilation)?

Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
