AERCO C-More boilers / water heaters with BST or WHM (ProtoNode RER SSD) BACnet points list

Updated 28 October 2026

Short answer

With the SSD (Slave/Slave Device) profile the AERCO ProtoNode RER sits on the BST or WHM Modbus network at fixed address 247 and serves the master's operating values and a 20-value block for each of up to 8 units on BACnet IP or BACnet MS/TP. The BMS changes the plant setpoint and setback values by writing them and then writing 1 to a send command. This file lists the master points and unit 1.

This page lists 46 BACnet objects for the AERCO C-More boilers / water heaters with BST or WHM (ProtoNode RER SSD) — 5 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from AERCO’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: AERCO C-More boilers / water heaters with BST or WHM (ProtoNode RER SSD)

Integration in brief

Select the SSD BACnet profile on the ProtoNode (S1 and A3 On, all other S and A1 Off); the gateway then talks to the BST/WHM master at address 247. To change the plant setpoint write AV 200 (and setback values AV 201-203 if used), then write 1 to AV 51 to send them. Read plant values from AV 100-119 and each unit's block from AV 300 onwards.

Minimum points to map

The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

ObjectNameWhyAccess
AV 200SetptPlant setpoint to send, 40-200 °FWrite
AV 51Write Cntrl Val to BST/WHMWrite 1 to send AV 200-203 to the masterWrite
AV 107Units ActiveUnits active, 0-8Read
AV 301Unit StatusUnit 1 status; 5 = FaultRead
AV 101SetpointPlant setpoint in use, °FRead
AV 110Header TempHeader temperature, °FRead
AV 106Avg Outlet TempAverage outlet temperature, °FRead
AV 108Units FaultedNumber of faulted units, 0-8Read
AV 302Fault CodeUnit 1 fault code (C-More codes)Read

Enable & remote start

No start/stop object. Write the new setpoint (AV 200) and, if used, setback setpoint and times (AV 201-203), then write 1 to AV 51 Write Cntrl Val to BST/WHM to pass them to the master.

Integration notes

Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the C-More boilers / water heaters with BST or WHM (ProtoNode RER SSD) and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. New to BACnet? Start with what a BACnet points list is and what the object types mean.

Questions about the AERCO C-More boilers / water heaters with BST or WHM (ProtoNode RER SSD)

How many BACnet points does the AERCO C-More boilers / water heaters with BST or WHM (ProtoNode RER SSD) have?

This list has 46 BACnet objects: 46 analog values. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.

Which AERCO C-More boilers / water heaters with BST or WHM (ProtoNode RER SSD) BACnet points are writable?

5 of the 46 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done.

Where is the official AERCO C-More boilers / water heaters with BST or WHM (ProtoNode RER SSD) BACnet documentation?

The source is AERCO ProtoNode Gateway User Manual (ProtoNode-RER / ProtoNode-LER), GF-129 (OMM-0080_0H), revision 2014-11-06, published free by AERCO at https://www.aerco.com/dfsmedia/0533dbba17714b1ab581ab07a4cbb521/58249-source/637395359810000000/omm-0080-0h-gf-129-protonode-ler-rer-11-06-14.pdf.

What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the AERCO C-More boilers / water heaters with BST or WHM (ProtoNode RER SSD)?

Start with AV 200 Setpt (Plant setpoint to send, 40-200 °F); AV 51 Write Cntrl Val to BST/WHM (Write 1 to send AV 200-203 to the master); AV 107 Units Active (Units active, 0-8); AV 301 Unit Status (Unit 1 status; 5 = Fault); AV 101 Setpoint (Plant setpoint in use, °F); AV 110 Header Temp (Header temperature, °F); AV 106 Avg Outlet Temp (Average outlet temperature, °F); AV 108 Units Faulted (Number of faulted units, 0-8); AV 302 Fault Code (Unit 1 fault code (C-More codes)).

How do I enable BMS control of the AERCO C-More boilers / water heaters with BST or WHM (ProtoNode RER SSD)?

No start/stop object. Write the new setpoint (AV 200) and, if used, setback setpoint and times (AV 201-203), then write 1 to AV 51 Write Cntrl Val to BST/WHM to pass them to the master.

How do I check these points on the real C-More boilers / water heaters with BST or WHM (ProtoNode RER SSD)?

Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
