AERCO C-More boilers with ACS / BMS II (ProtoNode RER) BACnet points list
Updated 28 October 2026
The AERCO ProtoNode RER reads C-More boiler controllers and an ACS or BMS II sequencer over Modbus RTU and serves them as one BACnet IP or BACnet MS/TP device, using a DIP-selected profile for 4, 8 or 12 C-Mores. This file follows the 12-boiler profile: 11 values per boiler plus 30 plant values from the ACS/BMS II. All objects are analog values; only the network setpoints are writable.
This page lists 162 BACnet objects for the AERCO C-More boilers with ACS / BMS II (ProtoNode RER) — 13 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from AERCO’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: AERCO C-More boilers with ACS / BMS II (ProtoNode RER)
Set the ProtoNode S-bank DIP switches to the BACnet profile for the number of C-Mores, give each C-More a Comm Address (1-12) and the ACS/BMS II Modbus address 128, then write the setpoint: 03-Net Header Set Temp on the ACS/BMS II for plant control, or each boiler's 03-Net Remote Setpt. The BAS must keep rewriting the setpoint, at least three times per network timeout.
Minimum points to map
The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.
| Object | Name | Why | Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| AV 33 | 03-Net Header Set Temp | Plant header setpoint via ACS/BMS II, 40-220 °F | Write |
| AV 24 | 03-Net Remote Setpt | Boiler 1 network setpoint, 40-220 °F | Write |
| AV 23 | 08-Unit Status | Boiler 1 status; 5 = Fault | Read |
| AV 34 | 04-Header Temp | Header water temperature, °F | Read |
| AV 29 | 06-Outlet Temp | Boiler 1 outlet water temperature, °F | Read |
| AV 26 | 01-Fire Rate Out | Boiler 1 fire rate, % | Read |
| AV 22 | 07-Display Code | Boiler 1 status/fault message code | Read |
| AV 36 | 06-Display Code | ACS/BMS II fault bit field | Read |
Enable & remote start
No start/stop object. For plant control set the ACS/BMS II to Header Set Mode = Remote Setpt and Remote Signal = Network, then write AV 33. For a single C-More set Boiler Mode = Remote Setpt and Remote Signal = Network, then write its 03-Net Remote Setpt. Monitor-only needs just the Modbus address and 9600 baud.
Heartbeat & communication loss
The BAS must write the setpoint at least three times within the unit's Network Timeout or the unit stops using it. Defaults are 30 s on C-More (5-999 s, Configuration menu), ACS (5-240 s) and BMS II (5-240 s, RS-232 menu).
Network setup
- S0-S3 (A1 Off): all Off = 1 ACS/BMS II + 4 C-Mores, S0 On = 8 C-Mores, S1 On = 12 C-Mores (BACnet IP / MS/TP).
- Device instance = Node_Offset (set in the Web Configurator) + A-bank DIP value; MS/TP MAC is 1-127 on A0-A7, baud on B0-B3.
- Default IP 192.168.1.24; change it in the ProtoNode web GUI.
- Modbus side: every AERCO unit at 9600 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity.
- C-More Comm Address 1-4, 1-8 or 1-12 to match the profile; ACS/BMS II: RS232 Mode = Modbus Slave, 9600 baud, Modbus Address 128, Modbus Pass-thru Enabled to see the boilers.
- The ACS/BMS II RS-232 port needs an RS-232 to RS-485 converter to reach the ProtoNode.
Watch out for
- Pick the profile for the number of boilers actually installed; with a profile for more units than are installed the Node Offline LED stays lit.
- Boiler 1 to 12 point names are identical; use the instance (or the description) to tell them apart.
- ACS/BMS II Boiler 1-8 Status covers PWM-controlled boilers; Net Blr 1-12 Status covers network boilers.

Integration notes
- Older document (OMM-0080_0H, November 2014) for the ProtoNode RER gateway.
- Object IDs are fixed per profile and do not follow a formula; the 4- and 8-boiler profiles use the same IDs for the boilers and ACS values they include.
- Each boiler's points carry the same names (01-Fire Rate Out ...); the boiler number is in the description.
- The read-only column marks 03-Net Remote Setpt inconsistently between profiles; it is a Modbus holding register (40001) and is listed here as writable.
- 04-Net Direct Drive (C-More firing rate) appears only in special profiles and is not in this table.
Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the C-More boilers with ACS / BMS II (ProtoNode RER) and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. New to BACnet? Start with what a BACnet points list is and what the object types mean.
Questions about the AERCO C-More boilers with ACS / BMS II (ProtoNode RER)
How many BACnet points does the AERCO C-More boilers with ACS / BMS II (ProtoNode RER) have?
This list has 162 BACnet objects: 162 analog values. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.
Which AERCO C-More boilers with ACS / BMS II (ProtoNode RER) BACnet points are writable?
13 of the 162 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done.
Where is the official AERCO C-More boilers with ACS / BMS II (ProtoNode RER) BACnet documentation?
The source is AERCO ProtoNode Gateway User Manual (ProtoNode-RER / ProtoNode-LER), GF-129 (OMM-0080_0H), revision 2014-11-06, published free by AERCO at https://www.aerco.com/dfsmedia/0533dbba17714b1ab581ab07a4cbb521/58249-source/637395359810000000/omm-0080-0h-gf-129-protonode-ler-rer-11-06-14.pdf.
What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the AERCO C-More boilers with ACS / BMS II (ProtoNode RER)?
Start with AV 33 03-Net Header Set Temp (Plant header setpoint via ACS/BMS II, 40-220 °F); AV 24 03-Net Remote Setpt (Boiler 1 network setpoint, 40-220 °F); AV 23 08-Unit Status (Boiler 1 status; 5 = Fault); AV 34 04-Header Temp (Header water temperature, °F); AV 29 06-Outlet Temp (Boiler 1 outlet water temperature, °F); AV 26 01-Fire Rate Out (Boiler 1 fire rate, %); AV 22 07-Display Code (Boiler 1 status/fault message code); AV 36 06-Display Code (ACS/BMS II fault bit field).
How do I enable BMS control of the AERCO C-More boilers with ACS / BMS II (ProtoNode RER)?
No start/stop object. For plant control set the ACS/BMS II to Header Set Mode = Remote Setpt and Remote Signal = Network, then write AV 33. For a single C-More set Boiler Mode = Remote Setpt and Remote Signal = Network, then write its 03-Net Remote Setpt. Monitor-only needs just the Modbus address and 9600 baud.
Does the AERCO C-More boilers with ACS / BMS II (ProtoNode RER) need a BACnet heartbeat or have a communication timeout?
The BAS must write the setpoint at least three times within the unit's Network Timeout or the unit stops using it. Defaults are 30 s on C-More (5-999 s, Configuration menu), ACS (5-240 s) and BMS II (5-240 s, RS-232 menu).
How do I check these points on the real C-More boilers with ACS / BMS II (ProtoNode RER)?
Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
