Schneider Electric PowerLogic EM4200 energy meter (BACnet MS/TP) BACnet points list
Updated 28 October 2026
The EM4200 meter has a fixed BACnet MS/TP object list: 103 Analog Inputs for energy, power, demand, power factor, voltage, current and frequency (totals, per phase, and import/export), 26 Analog Values for commands and setup (system type, CT and PT settings, demand intervals, pulse output, MS/TP address and baud), and 22 Binary Inputs that flag voltage, current, frequency, phase-loss, power-factor and configuration errors.
This page lists 151 BACnet objects for the Schneider Electric PowerLogic EM4200 energy meter (BACnet MS/TP) — 17 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from Schneider Electric’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: Schneider Electric PowerLogic EM4200 energy meter (BACnet MS/TP)
Set the MS/TP MAC address and baud rate and a unique device instance, then read energy (AI 1), total power (AI 4), demand (AI 12), power factor (AI 7), average voltage and current. Use AV 1 Command only when you need to reset energy or demand. Watch the phase-loss and range-error BIs for wiring or supply problems.
Minimum points to map
The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

| AI 1 | kWh | Active energy total, kWh | Read |
| AI 4 | kW_Total | Total active power, kW | Read |
| AI 12 | kW_Present_Demand | Present active power demand, kW | Read |
| AI 7 | PF_Avg | Average power factor | Read |
| AI 8 | Voltage_LL_Avg | Average line-to-line voltage | Read |
| AI 10 | Current_Avg | Average phase current | Read |
| BI 9 | Phase_Loss_L1 | Phase loss on L1 | Read |
| BI 10 | Phase_Loss_L2 | Phase loss on L2 | Read |
| BI 11 | Phase_Loss_L3 | Phase loss on L3 | Read |
Network setup
- MS/TP MAC address 1-127 (AV 19) and baud 9600, 19200, 38400, 76800 or 115200 (AV 20).
- The device instance is pseudo-random out of the box; set a unique one before adding the meter.
- Max_Master defaults to 127 and is writable (1-127); Max_Info_Frames is 1.
- System type (AV 2), CT size and type (AV 3-5) and PT ratio (AV 6) must match the installation or all readings are wrong.
- No segmentation; max APDU 480 bytes; APDU timeout 3000 ms with 3 retries.
Watch out for
- Writing AV 1 with 30078 clears the energy accumulators; use it with care.
- Setup AVs are stored in non-volatile memory; don't write them cyclically.
- BI 17-22 report overridden control of CT size, pulse weight, address, meter mode, analog output and CT interface.

Integration notes
- Energy totals, max demands and most setup values are kept in non-volatile memory.
- AV 1 Command takes one of four codes: 30078 clears energy accumulators, 21212 resets max demand, 21211 starts a new demand sub-interval, 16498 clears pulse counters. It always reads 0.
- BI 17-22 flag that control of a setting (CT size, pulse weight, address, meter mode, analog output, CT interface) is overridden; they are not measurement faults.
- The device object instance defaults to a pseudo-random value; Object_Name, Location and Max_Master are writable.
- Source is Schneider's Excel object list (EM4200_BACnet_ObjectList.xlsx); the file prints no revision or date.
Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the PowerLogic EM4200 energy meter (BACnet MS/TP) and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. Questions about the Schneider Electric PowerLogic EM4200 energy meter (BACnet MS/TP)
How many BACnet points does the Schneider Electric PowerLogic EM4200 energy meter (BACnet MS/TP) have?
This list has 151 BACnet objects: 103 analog inputs, 26 analog values, 22 binary inputs. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.
Which Schneider Electric PowerLogic EM4200 energy meter (BACnet MS/TP) BACnet points are writable?
17 of the 151 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done.
Where is the official Schneider Electric PowerLogic EM4200 energy meter (BACnet MS/TP) BACnet documentation?
The source is EM4200 BACnet object list (Excel version) (EM4200_BACnet_ObjectList), published free by Schneider Electric at https://download.schneider-electric.com/files?p_Doc_Ref=EM4200_BACnet_ObjectList.
What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the Schneider Electric PowerLogic EM4200 energy meter (BACnet MS/TP)?
Start with AI 1 kWh (Active energy total, kWh); AI 4 kW_Total (Total active power, kW); AI 12 kW_Present_Demand (Present active power demand, kW); AI 7 PF_Avg (Average power factor); AI 8 Voltage_LL_Avg (Average line-to-line voltage); AI 10 Current_Avg (Average phase current); BI 9 Phase_Loss_L1 (Phase loss on L1); BI 10 Phase_Loss_L2 (Phase loss on L2); BI 11 Phase_Loss_L3 (Phase loss on L3).
How do I check these points on the real PowerLogic EM4200 energy meter (BACnet MS/TP)?
Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
