Mitsubishi Electric Procon BAC-IP/50 BACnet points list

Updated 28 October 2026

Short answer

The Procon BAC-IP/50 is a small Mitsubishi Electric UK gateway that connects to a G-50 controller over Ethernet and serves up to 50 units as BACnet IP objects. Each unit address gets the same block of setup (_w) and state (_r) objects, named after the unit name typed into the configuration program. It does not support segmentation and its APDU limit is small, so keep read-multiple requests short.

This page lists 25 BACnet objects for the Mitsubishi Electric Procon BAC-IP/50 — 10 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from Mitsubishi Electric’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: Mitsubishi Electric Procon BAC-IP/50

Integration in brief

Give the BAC-IP/50 and its G-50 separate IP addresses on the same subnet, set the device ID and unit names with the PC configuration program, then map the per-unit _w (command) and _r (status) objects. Only the master unit of each group accepts commands.

Minimum points to map

The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

ObjectNameWhyAccess
BO 100101nnn_ON_wStart/stop the unitCommand
MO 100104nnn_MD_wCommand the operating modeCommand
AO 100109nnn_SP_wSetpoint commandCommand
MO 100106nnn_FS_wFan speed: 1 low, 2 mid2, 3 mid1, 4 highCommand
BI 100102nnn_ON_rConfirm run statusRead
AI 100108nnn_RARoom temperatureRead
BI 100026Sys_G50_Comms_StateGateway-to-G-50 link statusRead
AI 100103nnn_ECodeError code (8000 = no error)Read

Enable & remote start

The Enable Link terminals take a normally-closed volt-free contact (shipped with a wire link). Opening it sets the G-50 Forced-Off (all units off, remotes disabled) and resends every 5 s; closing it sends one Reset so later BMS Forced-Off commands are not overridden. Local remotes can be inhibited per unit with nnn_LI_w.

Heartbeat & communication loss

No BMS heartbeat. Sys_G50_Comms_State goes inactive when the G-50 is off or unreachable, and Sys_Mnet_State is inactive while M-Net initialises, when the units are effectively offline.

Integration notes

Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the Procon BAC-IP/50 and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. New to BACnet? Start with what a BACnet points list is and what the object types mean.

Questions about the Mitsubishi Electric Procon BAC-IP/50

How many BACnet points does the Mitsubishi Electric Procon BAC-IP/50 have?

This list has 25 BACnet objects: 4 analog inputs, 1 analog output, 6 binary inputs, 4 binary outputs, 1 binary value, 1 device, 4 multi-state inputs, 4 multi-state outputs. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.

Which Mitsubishi Electric Procon BAC-IP/50 BACnet points are writable?

10 of the 25 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done.

Where is the official Mitsubishi Electric Procon BAC-IP/50 BACnet documentation?

The source is Procon BAC-IP/50 Installation and User Guide, revision 2009-07-20, published free by Mitsubishi Electric at https://library.mitsubishielectric.co.uk/pdf/download_full/384.

What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the Mitsubishi Electric Procon BAC-IP/50?

Start with BO 100101 nnn_ON_w (Start/stop the unit); MO 100104 nnn_MD_w (Command the operating mode); AO 100109 nnn_SP_w (Setpoint command); MO 100106 nnn_FS_w (Fan speed: 1 low, 2 mid2, 3 mid1, 4 high); BI 100102 nnn_ON_r (Confirm run status); AI 100108 nnn_RA (Room temperature); BI 100026 Sys_G50_Comms_State (Gateway-to-G-50 link status); AI 100103 nnn_ECode (Error code (8000 = no error)).

How do I enable BMS control of the Mitsubishi Electric Procon BAC-IP/50?

The Enable Link terminals take a normally-closed volt-free contact (shipped with a wire link). Opening it sets the G-50 Forced-Off (all units off, remotes disabled) and resends every 5 s; closing it sends one Reset so later BMS Forced-Off commands are not overridden. Local remotes can be inhibited per unit with nnn_LI_w.

Does the Mitsubishi Electric Procon BAC-IP/50 need a BACnet heartbeat or have a communication timeout?

No BMS heartbeat. Sys_G50_Comms_State goes inactive when the G-50 is off or unreachable, and Sys_Mnet_State is inactive while M-Net initialises, when the units are effectively offline.

How do I check these points on the real Procon BAC-IP/50?

Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
