Melink Intelli-Hood IH4 Virtual Output Module BACnet points list
Updated 28 October 2026
A Virtual Output Module is a virtual BACnet IP device behind the Intelli-Hood System Controller with four read-only digital outputs. They work like the controller's relay outputs: each is given a function in the configuration (Fan On, Temperature Alarm, Smoke, System Fault, VFD Fault...) and the BMS reads its state.
This page lists 4 BACnet objects for the Melink Intelli-Hood IH4 Virtual Output Module — 0 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from Melink’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: Melink Intelli-Hood IH4 Virtual Output Module
Assign each virtual output a function (for example Fan On and System Fault) and its hood groups in the Intelli-Hood configuration, then read the four BVs from the BMS.
Minimum points to map
The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.
| Object | Name | Why | Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| BV 0 | Digital Output 1 Status | Virtual output 1, e.g. Fan On (per config) | Read |
| BV 1 | Digital Output 2 Status | Virtual output 2, e.g. System Fault (per config) | Read |
| BV 2 | Digital Output 3 Status | Virtual output 3 (function per IH4 config) | Read |
| BV 3 | Digital Output 4 Status | Virtual output 4 (function per IH4 config) | Read |
Network setup
- The System Controller is the main BACnet IP device (default Device ID 654000) and a virtual router (default DNET 654) for the fan, hood controller and virtual module devices; UDP port 47808.
- With BACnet Auto Number on (default), the virtual devices are numbered from 654001: exhaust fans and auxiliary airflows (sorted by name), then hood controllers, virtual output modules, virtual input modules.
- IP defaults to DHCP. BACnet runs on IPv4 or IPv6, not both; for IPv6 set IP Type to 'IPv4 & IPv6' and BACnet IP Type to IPv6 (multicast scope default ff05).
- Settings are on the Touchpad (System Controller configuration) or the web configurator at http://<controller IP>/ih4-configurator.
- Virtual Output Module Device IDs are shown on the Touchpad under Status > Virtual Output Modules.
Watch out for
- Front ends that send Who-Is without routing only find the System Controller; run a network/router discovery, select the router with the Intelli-Hood DNET, then discover devices again.
- The DNET must be unique; another router or BBMD using 654 breaks access to the virtual devices.

Integration notes
- The PICS object table ticks the Analog Value column for these four objects, but their identifiers are BV 0-BV 3 and the states are binary; they are listed as BV here.
- Output functions include Temperature Alarm, Smoke, Fan On, MUA Damper, Temperature Fault, Optic Fault, VFD Fault, System Fault, 24/7 and External Relay Reset.
Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the Intelli-Hood IH4 Virtual Output Module and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. Questions about the Melink Intelli-Hood IH4 Virtual Output Module
How many BACnet points does the Melink Intelli-Hood IH4 Virtual Output Module have?
This list has 4 BACnet objects: 4 binary values. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.
Which Melink Intelli-Hood IH4 Virtual Output Module BACnet points are writable?
None of the listed objects are marked writable in the source documentation.
Where is the official Melink Intelli-Hood IH4 Virtual Output Module BACnet documentation?
The source is Intelli-Hood BACnet Protocol Implementation Conformance Statement (PICS), revision Revision 250723 (PICS dated 07-18-2025), published free by Melink at https://melinkcorp.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/IH4_BACnet_PICS.pdf.
What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the Melink Intelli-Hood IH4 Virtual Output Module?
Start with BV 0 Digital Output 1 Status (Virtual output 1, e.g. Fan On (per config)); BV 1 Digital Output 2 Status (Virtual output 2, e.g. System Fault (per config)); BV 2 Digital Output 3 Status (Virtual output 3 (function per IH4 config)); BV 3 Digital Output 4 Status (Virtual output 4 (function per IH4 config)).
How do I check these points on the real Intelli-Hood IH4 Virtual Output Module?
Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
