Daikin DMS502B71 Interface for use in BACnet BACnet points list

Updated 28 October 2026

Short answer

The DMS502B71 BACnet Interface (with the optional DAM411B51 expansion for DIII-Net ports 3 and 4) is a BACnet IP server that maps every VRV indoor unit group to the same 35-member object template. Integrators read on/off, mode, fan speed, room temperature, alarm and malfunction code, and can write start/stop, mode, setpoint, fan speed, airflow direction and remote-controller permit/prohibit per group. Object names end in the three-digit indoor unit number and instance numbers are built from that unit number.

This page lists 34 BACnet objects for the Daikin DMS502B71 Interface for use in BACnet — 15 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from Daikin’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: Daikin DMS502B71 Interface for use in BACnet

Integration in brief

Commission the interface with the Daikin test-operation/setup tool, then address each indoor unit group by its object suffix (000-255). Typical integration writes start/stop, mode, setpoint and fan speed per group and reads on/off status, room temperature, alarm and malfunction code.

Minimum points to map

The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

ObjectNameWhyAccess
BO 1StartStopCommand_XXXStart/stop the indoor unit groupCommand
MO 5AirConModeCommand_XXXOperation mode commandCommand
AV 10TempAdjust_XXXSetpointWrite
MO 7AirFlowRateCommand_XXXFan speed commandCommand
BI 2StartStopStatus_XXXActual on/off statusRead
AI 9RoomTemp_XXXRoom temperature (reference value)Read
BI 3Alarm_XXXIndoor unit malfunction alarmRead
MI 4MalfunctionCode_XXXDaikin malfunction codeRead
BI 20CommunicationStatus_XXXCommunication error with the unitRead

Enable & remote start

There is no separate enable: the BMS writes the command objects directly. Remote-controller lockouts are available per group (RemoteControlStart, RemoteControlAirConModeSet, RemoteControlTempAdjust = Prohibit), and CL_Rejection (only on 000/064/128/192) disables Daikin centralized controllers on that DIII-Net line. SystemForcedOff stops all units on a DIII-Net line and blocks remote-controller starts; clearing it does not restart the units, so the BMS (or another controller) must start them again.

Integration notes

Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the DMS502B71 Interface for use in BACnet and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. Questions about the Daikin DMS502B71 Interface for use in BACnet

How many BACnet points does the Daikin DMS502B71 Interface for use in BACnet have?

This list has 34 BACnet objects: 2 analog inputs, 2 analog values, 10 binary inputs, 3 binary outputs, 6 binary values, 5 multi-state inputs, 4 multi-state outputs, 2 accumulators. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.

Which Daikin DMS502B71 Interface for use in BACnet BACnet points are writable?

15 of the 34 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done.

Where is the official Daikin DMS502B71 Interface for use in BACnet BACnet documentation?

The source is Design Guide - Interface for use in BACnet (DMS502B71 / DAM411B51) (EDUS72-749C), published free by Daikin at https://daikincomfort.com/docs/default-source/interface-for-use-bacnet-/eg-dms502b71bacnet-guide.pdf.

What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the Daikin DMS502B71 Interface for use in BACnet?

Start with BO 1 StartStopCommand_XXX (Start/stop the indoor unit group); MO 5 AirConModeCommand_XXX (Operation mode command); AV 10 TempAdjust_XXX (Setpoint); MO 7 AirFlowRateCommand_XXX (Fan speed command); BI 2 StartStopStatus_XXX (Actual on/off status); AI 9 RoomTemp_XXX (Room temperature (reference value)); BI 3 Alarm_XXX (Indoor unit malfunction alarm); MI 4 MalfunctionCode_XXX (Daikin malfunction code); BI 20 CommunicationStatus_XXX (Communication error with the unit).

How do I enable BMS control of the Daikin DMS502B71 Interface for use in BACnet?

There is no separate enable: the BMS writes the command objects directly. Remote-controller lockouts are available per group (RemoteControlStart, RemoteControlAirConModeSet, RemoteControlTempAdjust = Prohibit), and CL_Rejection (only on 000/064/128/192) disables Daikin centralized controllers on that DIII-Net line. SystemForcedOff stops all units on a DIII-Net line and blocks remote-controller starts; clearing it does not restart the units, so the BMS (or another controller) must start them again.

How do I check these points on the real DMS502B71 Interface for use in BACnet?

Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
