CaptiveAire DCV Package DDC (Protocessor BACnet) BACnet points list

Updated 28 October 2026

Short answer

CaptiveAire DCV packages start and modulate kitchen hood exhaust and supply fans from temperature, occupancy, buttons, inputs or the BMS. BACnet IP or MS/TP comes from a factory-mounted Protocessor gateway in the electrical control panel, set at the factory for one of the two. The 231 objects are mostly read-only: 32 temperature sensors, zone and HMI readings, VFD frequency/current/power/fault for up to 8 exhaust and 2 supply fans, 'fans on by' and 'lights on by' reason flags, CORE fire-system fault codes, PCU filter monitoring and per-zone faults. Ten writable BVs carry the names of the panel's Prep Time, Fans On, Wash, Lights and Max Air buttons for two zones.

This page lists 231 BACnet objects for the CaptiveAire DCV Package DDC (Protocessor BACnet) — 10 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from CaptiveAire’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: CaptiveAire DCV Package DDC (Protocessor BACnet)

Integration in brief

Most DCV integrations are monitoring: map the zone temperatures, the fan VFD readings, the fans-on-by-BMS flags and the fire, fault and Modbus fault points. The only writable objects are the per-zone button BVs (Prep Time, Fans On, Wash, Lights, Max Air); the guide does not describe their behaviour, so test a write and watch the matching Zone-FansONbyBMS / LightsONbyBMS flags.

Minimum points to map

The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

Integration notes

Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the DCV Package DDC (Protocessor BACnet) and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. New to BACnet? Start with what a BACnet points list is and what the object types mean.

Questions about the CaptiveAire DCV Package DDC (Protocessor BACnet)

How many BACnet points does the CaptiveAire DCV Package DDC (Protocessor BACnet) have?

This list has 231 BACnet objects: 118 analog inputs, 103 binary inputs, 10 binary values. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.

Which CaptiveAire DCV Package DDC (Protocessor BACnet) BACnet points are writable?

10 of the 231 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done.

Where is the official CaptiveAire DCV Package DDC (Protocessor BACnet) BACnet documentation?

The source is Direct Digital Controls (DDC) Application Guide: Demand Control Ventilation (DCV) Packages Network, published free by CaptiveAire at https://www.captiveaire.com/catalogcontent/electriccontrols/doc/dcv-ddc.pdf.

What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the CaptiveAire DCV Package DDC (Protocessor BACnet)?

Start with BV 223 FansONButtonZone1 (Zone 1 fans button; write effect not described in guide); BI 94 Zone1-FansONbyBMS (Confirms zone 1 fans are on by BMS command); AI 33 Temperature Zone 1 (Zone 1 temperature, °F); AI 48 VFD Frequency Exhaust 1 (Exhaust fan 1 drive speed, Hz); AI 56 VFD Frequency Supply 1 (Supply (make-up air) fan 1 drive speed, Hz); BI 189 DCVFireZone1 (Fire system tripped, zone 1); AI 78 VFD Fault Exhaust 1 (Exhaust fan 1 drive fault); AI 132 ErrorCOREBoard1 (Fire system fault code; highest-priority fault shown); AI 221 ModbusFaultCode (Modbus fault code; codes not listed in the guide).

How do I check these points on the real DCV Package DDC (Protocessor BACnet)?

Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
