Bosch Buderus SSB800 / SSB1000 / SSB1000TL boiler (ProtoNode FPC-N38) BACnet points list
Updated 28 October 2026
The SSB boilers reach a BMS through a ProtoNode FPC-N38, which reads the D_Platform boiler control over a serial Modbus RTU link and serves BACnet MS/TP or BACnet IP (Metasys N2 and Modbus TCP also selectable). The list has 147 objects: cascade/system values, per-boiler and per-burner status, temperatures, power level, flow, fan speed, burn hours and error data for up to four boilers. Only the reset-curve, warm weather shutdown, night setback, cascade setpoint and boiler address objects are writable.
This page lists 147 BACnet objects for the Bosch Buderus SSB800 / SSB1000 / SSB1000TL boiler (ProtoNode FPC-N38) — 10 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from Bosch’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: Bosch Buderus SSB800 / SSB1000 / SSB1000TL boiler (ProtoNode FPC-N38)
Set the boiler station address to 1, pick BACnet MS/TP or BACnet IP on the ProtoNode S DIP switches, set the MS/TP MAC and baud rate, then select the boiler profile in the ProtoNode web configurator. The list is mostly monitoring: system supply setpoint and temperature, outdoor temperature, power level, per-boiler active/error/service flags and the error number. The writable objects are the cascade setpoint and heating-curve settings; the guide describes no enable or start/stop command.
Minimum points to map
The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

Network setup
- Boiler side: Modbus RTU at 9600 baud; set the station address of the device attached to the ProtoNode to 1.
- S bank DIP switches S0-S3 select BACnet IP, BACnet MS/TP, Metasys N2, Modbus TCP or single-node BACnet MS/TP (power off when changing them).
- BACnet MS/TP: MAC address 1-127 on the A bank DIP switches; baud rate on B0-B3 (9600-76800, factory default 38400).
- Device instance = station address + Node_Offset (default 50,000); Node_Offset can be changed in the web configurator.
- The ProtoNode web configurator defaults to 192.168.1.24 / 255.255.255.0; change the IP address there for BACnet IP.
Watch out for
- Point count follows the selected profile (1-4 boilers); objects for missing boilers or burners will not be present.
- Most writable objects are boiler heating-curve settings (reset curve, warm weather shutdown, night setback), not run commands.

Integration notes
- The table has no read/write column. Objects whose LonWorks variable is an input/output pair (nvi/nvo) and that map to N2 AO are marked writable; the rest are read-only.
- The gateway profile depends on how many boilers the managing D_Platform runs: 63 points for one boiler, 91 for two, 119 for three and 147 for four. This file lists the full four-boiler table.
- Blr 1-4 / Burner 1-2 objects only exist for boilers and burners that are present.
- The table gives no engineering units; the LonWorks types (temperature, percent, hours, count) hint at the value type.
- The same table also maps Metasys N2 and LonWorks (FPC-N39); only the BACnet side is listed here.
Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the Buderus SSB800 / SSB1000 / SSB1000TL boiler (ProtoNode FPC-N38) and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. New to BACnet? Start with what a BACnet points list is and what the object types mean.
Questions about the Bosch Buderus SSB800 / SSB1000 / SSB1000TL boiler (ProtoNode FPC-N38)
How many BACnet points does the Bosch Buderus SSB800 / SSB1000 / SSB1000TL boiler (ProtoNode FPC-N38) have?
This list has 147 BACnet objects: 102 analog inputs, 10 analog values, 35 binary inputs. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.
Which Bosch Buderus SSB800 / SSB1000 / SSB1000TL boiler (ProtoNode FPC-N38) BACnet points are writable?
10 of the 147 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done. The source has no read/write column, so this is inferred from object type.
Where is the official Bosch Buderus SSB800 / SSB1000 / SSB1000TL boiler (ProtoNode FPC-N38) BACnet documentation?
The source is ProtoNode FPC-N38 and ProtoNode FPC-N39 Start-up Guide for Interfacing Bosch Products: Bosch Buderus SSB800, SSB1000, SSB1000TL (Appendix B.1 D_Platform Modbus RTU Mappings to BACnet, Metasys N2 and LonWorks) (Document Revision 4.B (Web Configurator Template Revision 70)), revision 2018-03, published free by Bosch at https://www.bosch-homecomfort.com/us/media/country_pool/service/technical_guides/ssb800-1000-1000tl_bacnet_and_lonworks_start-up_guide_03.2018_us_1.pdf.
What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the Bosch Buderus SSB800 / SSB1000 / SSB1000TL boiler (ProtoNode FPC-N38)?
Start with AV 10 Cascade Ch Mode X SP (Cascade central-heating mode setpoint); AI 11 System Supply SP (Active system supply setpoint); AI 12 System Supply Sensor Temp (System supply water temperature); AI 13 Outdoor Sensor Temp (Outdoor air temperature); AI 9 Power Level For Entire System (System power level, %); BI 19 Boiler 1 Is Active / Heating (Boiler 1 firing); BI 23 Boiler 1 Has Error (Boiler 1 in error); AI 136 Error Number (Active error code).
How do I check these points on the real Buderus SSB800 / SSB1000 / SSB1000TL boiler (ProtoNode FPC-N38)?
Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
