Bell & Gossett MCA 109 Advanced BACnet Option (FC-102) BACnet points list

Updated 28 October 2026

Short answer

The MCA 109 option card adds a fuller BACnet MS/TP interface to the FC-102 drive used on Bell & Gossett pumps. Besides drive I/O, commands and readings, it exposes three extended PID controllers and individual binary values for every drive warning and alarm, which makes fault reporting to the BAS much more detailed than the embedded interface.

This page lists 297 BACnet objects for the Bell & Gossett MCA 109 Advanced BACnet Option (FC-102) — 81 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from Bell & Gossett’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: Bell & Gossett MCA 109 Advanced BACnet Option (FC-102)

Integration in brief

The MCA 109 option card list gives start, coast, direction, jog and reset commands, references and setpoints, three extended PID controllers, and one binary value per drive warning and alarm. A typical integration writes BV 1 and a reference or setpoint, then reads status, speed, power and the warning/alarm bits it cares about.

Minimum points to map

The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

ObjectNameWhyAccess
BV 1StartStart/stop the drive from the BMSWrite
AV 0ReferenceSpeed reference from the BMS (open-loop control)Write
AV 46Setpoint 1Process setpoint 1 (when the drive runs its own PID)Write
BV 5ResetReset a tripped driveWrite
BV 10Drive ReadyReady to run when given a startRead
BV 16Motor runningRunning statusRead
BV 13Bus controlDrive is under bus controlRead
AV 50FrequencyOutput frequencyRead
AV 15Power [KW]Drive output powerRead
BV 14TripAny active drive faultRead

Enable & remote start

BV 1 Start, BV 2 Coasting, BV 3 CW/CCW and BV 4 Jog are writable commands, and BV 13 shows whether the drive is under bus control. The point list does not explain how bus control is set up on the drive.

Sensors & values from the BMS

AV 2-4 Bus Feedback1-3 and the Ext. 1-3 setpoint/feedback values are writable; the point list does not describe how the drive uses them.

Integration notes

Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the MCA 109 Advanced BACnet Option (FC-102) and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. New to BACnet? Start with what a BACnet points list is and what the object types mean.

Questions about the Bell & Gossett MCA 109 Advanced BACnet Option (FC-102)

How many BACnet points does the Bell & Gossett MCA 109 Advanced BACnet Option (FC-102) have?

This list has 297 BACnet objects: 7 analog inputs, 7 analog outputs, 50 analog values, 16 binary inputs, 31 binary outputs, 185 binary values, 1 multi-state output. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.

Which Bell & Gossett MCA 109 Advanced BACnet Option (FC-102) BACnet points are writable?

81 of the 297 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done.

Where is the official Bell & Gossett MCA 109 Advanced BACnet Option (FC-102) BACnet documentation?

The source is BacNET Points Firmware 3.90 and above (MCA109 FC-102 Advanced BACnet Option / FC-102 Embedded BACnet) (BGBACNET), revision December 2019, published free by Bell & Gossett at https://prod.xylem.com/siteassets/brand/bell-amp-gossett/resources/manual/bgbacnet.pdf.

What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the Bell & Gossett MCA 109 Advanced BACnet Option (FC-102)?

Start with BV 1 Start (Start/stop the drive from the BMS); AV 0 Reference (Speed reference from the BMS (open-loop control)); AV 46 Setpoint 1 (Process setpoint 1 (when the drive runs its own PID)); BV 5 Reset (Reset a tripped drive); BV 10 Drive Ready (Ready to run when given a start); BV 16 Motor running (Running status); BV 13 Bus control (Drive is under bus control); AV 50 Frequency (Output frequency); AV 15 Power [KW] (Drive output power); BV 14 Trip (Any active drive fault).

How do I enable BMS control of the Bell & Gossett MCA 109 Advanced BACnet Option (FC-102)?

BV 1 Start, BV 2 Coasting, BV 3 CW/CCW and BV 4 Jog are writable commands, and BV 13 shows whether the drive is under bus control. The point list does not explain how bus control is set up on the drive.

Can the BMS supply sensor values to the Bell & Gossett MCA 109 Advanced BACnet Option (FC-102)?

AV 2-4 Bus Feedback1-3 and the Ext. 1-3 setpoint/feedback values are writable; the point list does not describe how the drive uses them.

How do I check these points on the real MCA 109 Advanced BACnet Option (FC-102)?

Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
