AAON VCCX2 Controller BACnet points list

Updated 28 October 2026

Short answer

The VCCX2 is AAON's main unit controller and has an on-board BACnet MS/TP port. Its object map has about 280 read-only analog inputs (temperatures, pressures, airflow, compressor and refrigerant module data), about 100 writable analog values (setpoints, offsets, overrides and BAS-supplied sensor values) and about 150 read-only binary inputs (alarms, relay and module status).

This page lists 534 BACnet objects for the AAON VCCX2 Controller — 99 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from AAON’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: AAON VCCX2 Controller

Integration in brief

Connect the on-board MS/TP port and set MAC address, device ID and baud on the controller's LCD BACnet screens. The BAS schedules the unit with AV 67 Schedule Force, adjusts setpoints with the occupied heating/cooling and supply-air AVs, and can supply sensor values through AV 72-79 when the controller is configured for it. Alarms are read from the BI objects.

Minimum points to map

The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

Enable & remote start

Occupancy comes from AV 67 Schedule Force (0 = follow the controller schedule, 1 = forced occupied, 2 = forced unoccupied), the internal week schedule, a GPC-XP broadcast schedule, or the BI4 remote forced occupied contact. AV 68, AV 69, AV 70 and AV 71 override HVAC mode, fan VFD, OA damper and supply setpoint; writing Auto (0 or 65535 as listed) hands control back.

Sensors & values from the BMS

If the controller is configured for it, the BAS can write AV 72 Space Temperature, AV 73 Space Humidity, AV 76 Relief Pressure, AV 77 CO2, AV 78 Outdoor Air Temperature and AV 79 Outdoor Air Humidity; these are the only sensor values the BAS may write. The guide gives no refresh timeout for them. A relief pressure value received over BACnet that is out of range raises an alarm.

Integration notes

Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the VCCX2 Controller and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. New to BACnet? Start with what a BACnet points list is and what the object types mean.

Questions about the AAON VCCX2 Controller

How many BACnet points does the AAON VCCX2 Controller have?

This list has 534 BACnet objects: 286 analog inputs, 99 analog values, 149 binary inputs. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.

Which AAON VCCX2 Controller BACnet points are writable?

99 of the 534 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done.

Where is the official AAON VCCX2 Controller BACnet documentation?

The source is VCCX2 Controller Technical Guide (Appendix C: BACnet Guide) (G115820), revision Rev. AA, January 7, 2025, published free by AAON at https://www.aaon.com/hubfs/G039840-VCCX2-T.pdf.

What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the AAON VCCX2 Controller?

Start with AV 67 Schedule Force (Occupied/unoccupied command from the BAS); AV 1 Occupied Cooling Setpoint (Cooling starts one deadband above this, °F); AV 2 Occupied Heating Setpoint (Heating starts one deadband below this, °F); AV 10 Supply Air Cooling Setpoint (Discharge air temp target in cooling, °F); AI 3 Control Status (Current occupancy status); AI 4 HVAC Mode (Off, vent, cool, heat, dehum, purge or defrost mode); AI 5 Control Temperature (Reading from the configured control sensor); AI 9 Supply Air Temperature (Discharge air temp leaving the unit); AI 144 Alarm Status (Summary alarm).

How do I enable BMS control of the AAON VCCX2 Controller?

Occupancy comes from AV 67 Schedule Force (0 = follow the controller schedule, 1 = forced occupied, 2 = forced unoccupied), the internal week schedule, a GPC-XP broadcast schedule, or the BI4 remote forced occupied contact. AV 68, AV 69, AV 70 and AV 71 override HVAC mode, fan VFD, OA damper and supply setpoint; writing Auto (0 or 65535 as listed) hands control back.

Can the BMS supply sensor values to the AAON VCCX2 Controller?

If the controller is configured for it, the BAS can write AV 72 Space Temperature, AV 73 Space Humidity, AV 76 Relief Pressure, AV 77 CO2, AV 78 Outdoor Air Temperature and AV 79 Outdoor Air Humidity; these are the only sensor values the BAS may write. The guide gives no refresh timeout for them. A relief pressure value received over BACnet that is out of range raises an alarm.

How do I check these points on the real VCCX2 Controller?

Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
