Desert Aire IAQ Grow Room Program (GR 3.0.4 and later) BACnet points list

Updated 28 October 2026

Short answer

The grow-room version of Desert Aire's IAQ program uses a lights-on/lights-off signal to switch between day and night temperature and RH setpoints. Over BACnet the BMS can set the lights state, write the four day/night setpoints, tune deadbands, limits and PID terms, and send its own zone temperature and RH. Readbacks cover up to four compressor circuits, EXV positions, water temperatures and a status and alarm code.

This page lists 89 BACnet objects for the Desert Aire IAQ Grow Room Program (GR 3.0.4 and later) — 30 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from Desert Aire’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: Desert Aire IAQ Grow Room Program (GR 3.0.4 and later)

Integration in brief

Write the lights state with BV 1 so the unit uses its lights-on or lights-off setpoints, and set those setpoints in AV 20-23. Monitor Unit Status (AV 1001), zone temperature and RH, and alarms through BV 3 (inverted) and the alarm code (AV 1006). Use BV 14 to reset alarms.

Minimum points to map

The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

Enable & remote start

No network on/off object is listed. BV 1 Network Lights On Input tells the unit whether the grow lights are on (1) or off (0); BV 2 confirms the state and BV 15 shows the photo cell input.

Sensors & values from the BMS

The BMS can write zone temperature (AV 58) and zone RH (AV 59). The list does not say how the unit chooses between these and its own sensors.

Integration notes

Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the IAQ Grow Room Program (GR 3.0.4 and later) and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. New to BACnet? Start with what a BACnet points list is and what the object types mean.

Questions about the Desert Aire IAQ Grow Room Program (GR 3.0.4 and later)

How many BACnet points does the Desert Aire IAQ Grow Room Program (GR 3.0.4 and later) have?

This list has 89 BACnet objects: 70 analog values, 19 binary values. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.

Which Desert Aire IAQ Grow Room Program (GR 3.0.4 and later) BACnet points are writable?

30 of the 89 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done.

Where is the official Desert Aire IAQ Grow Room Program (GR 3.0.4 and later) BACnet documentation?

The source is BACnet Points List - Unit Type IAQ Grow Room Program Versions GR 3.0.4 & Above, revision 2016-08-26, published free by Desert Aire at https://www.desert-aire.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/IAQ-GR-BACnet-Points-Ver-3_0_4.pdf.

What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the Desert Aire IAQ Grow Room Program (GR 3.0.4 and later)?

Start with BV 1 Network Lights On Input (Lights-on input (1 = on); picks day/night setpoints); AV 20 Lights On Temp. Set Point (Lights-on temperature setpoint, 45-90 °F); AV 21 Lights Off Temp. Set Point (Lights-off temperature setpoint, 45-90 °F); AV 22 Lights On RH Set Point (Lights-on RH setpoint, %); AV 23 Lights Off RH Set Point (Lights-off RH setpoint, %); BV 14 Remote Reset (Write 1 to reset); AV 1001 Unit Status (Operating state code (0-12)); AV 9 Zone Air Temperature (Measured zone temperature, °F); AV 10 Zone Air Relative Humidity (Measured zone RH, %); BV 3 Alarm Active (Unit alarm; 0 = alarm, 1 = normal).

How do I enable BMS control of the Desert Aire IAQ Grow Room Program (GR 3.0.4 and later)?

No network on/off object is listed. BV 1 Network Lights On Input tells the unit whether the grow lights are on (1) or off (0); BV 2 confirms the state and BV 15 shows the photo cell input.

Can the BMS supply sensor values to the Desert Aire IAQ Grow Room Program (GR 3.0.4 and later)?

The BMS can write zone temperature (AV 58) and zone RH (AV 59). The list does not say how the unit chooses between these and its own sensors.

How do I check these points on the real IAQ Grow Room Program (GR 3.0.4 and later)?

Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
