Price Industries PIC Price Intelligent Controller BACnet points list

Updated 28 October 2026

Short answer

The PIC is Price's DDC zone controller for VAV, fan-powered and dual-duct terminals and for fan coils. It talks BACnet MS/TP through the optional PIC-BAC module and, with the PIC-VAV module and a flow sensor, controls airflow pressure-independently. The same object list is used for every application, so the meaning of the configurable inputs and outputs depends on how the controller is set up.

This page lists 68 BACnet objects for the Price Industries PIC Price Intelligent Controller — 52 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from Price Industries’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: Price Industries PIC Price Intelligent Controller

Integration in brief

Set a unique MAC and device instance at the thermostat, set the segment baud (Price default 76800), then map the occupancy override, room setpoint, room temperature, airflow and the alarm-level MVs. The controller runs its own airflow and reheat sequence; the BMS mostly adjusts setpoints and occupancy.

Minimum points to map

The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

MV 5Occupancy OverrideNetwork occupancy: 2 = force unocc, 3 = force occWrite
AV 6Room SetpointOccupied room setpointWrite

Enable & remote start

No enable point. Occupancy comes from airflow, a contact closure, the thermostat button or a motion sensor; the BMS can force it with MV 5 Occupancy Override (1 = No Override, 2 = Force Unoccupied, 3 = Force Occupied). MV 4 shows what set the current occupancy.

Integration notes

Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the PIC Price Intelligent Controller and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. New to BACnet? Questions about the Price Industries PIC Price Intelligent Controller

How many BACnet points does the Price Industries PIC Price Intelligent Controller have?

This list has 68 BACnet objects: 9 analog inputs, 5 analog outputs, 29 analog values, 1 binary input, 7 binary outputs, 1 multi-state output, 16 multi-state values. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.

Which Price Industries PIC Price Intelligent Controller BACnet points are writable?

52 of the 68 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done.

Where is the official Price Industries PIC Price Intelligent Controller BACnet documentation?

The source is BACnet Points List - PIC, revision REV 2, published free by Price Industries at https://legacy.priceindustries.com/content/uploads/assets/literature/documents---bacnet/pic---bacnet-points-list.pdf.

What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the Price Industries PIC Price Intelligent Controller?

Start with MV 5 Occupancy Override (Network occupancy: 2 = force unocc, 3 = force occ); AV 6 Room Setpoint (Occupied room setpoint); MV 3 Occupancy (Current occupancy (1 = Unoccupied, 2 = Occupied)); MV 13 Controller State (Cooling, heating or deadband); AI 1 Room Temperature (Room temperature); AI 2 Airflow (Measured airflow); AV 1 Airflow Target (Airflow target being controlled to); MV 14 High Temperature Alarm (High room temp alarm level (5 = no alarm)); MV 15 Low Temperature Alarm (Low room temp alarm level (5 = no alarm)); MV 16 Low Airflow Alarm (Low airflow alarm level (5 = no alarm)).

How do I enable BMS control of the Price Industries PIC Price Intelligent Controller?

No enable point. Occupancy comes from airflow, a contact closure, the thermostat button or a motion sensor; the BMS can force it with MV 5 Occupancy Override (1 = No Override, 2 = Force Unoccupied, 3 = Force Occupied). MV 4 shows what set the current occupancy.

How do I check these points on the real PIC Price Intelligent Controller?

Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
