ClimateMaster MPC Multi-Protocol DDC Controller - Water-to-Air (Gen 7 and newer) BACnet points list

Updated 28 October 2026

Short answer

The MPC is ClimateMaster's add-on DDC controller for water-source heat pumps. It sits on top of the CXM2/DXM2.6 unit board, acts as a thermostat with a wall sensor, and talks BACnet MS/TP, BACnet over ARC156, N2 or Modbus. The BMS commands occupancy, writes occupied and unoccupied heating and cooling setpoints (in °F or °C objects), can shut the unit down, and reads compressor, fan and temperature status plus fault counters and the lockout state. Units can share one wall sensor in a leader/follower setup.

This page lists 123 BACnet objects for the ClimateMaster MPC Multi-Protocol DDC Controller - Water-to-Air (Gen 7 and newer) — 68 of them writable — with each object’s type, instance number, name, engineering units and access. It is re-typed from ClimateMaster’s own free documentation, linked below.

BMS integration notes: ClimateMaster MPC Multi-Protocol DDC Controller - Water-to-Air (Gen 7 and newer)

Integration in brief

Address the MPC with the rotary switches and set the MS/TP baud with the DIP switches. Command occupancy with BV 12 (or a BMS schedule on BV 14) and write the occupied cooling and heating setpoints. Use BV 8 for an emergency stop and BV 4 to clear a lockout. Monitor fan and compressor status, space temperature, the Alarm State and the Fault text.

Minimum points to map

The short list most integrators start with — enough to run the unit from a BMS. Map more as the job needs.

BV 8Emergency ShutdownEmergency stop; ON turns Y1, Y2, G and W offWrite

Enable & remote start

Stand-alone, the MPC defaults to occupied. BV 12 Occupied Mode (default ON) sets occupied/unoccupied from the BMS; BV 14 Work Schedule can take a BMS schedule instead. BV 8 Emergency Shutdown turns the Y1, Y2, G and W outputs off. BV 53 Compressor Shutdown disables both compressors, and BV 61/BV 54 disable heating or cooling.

Sensors & values from the BMS

For units sharing one wall sensor, set BV 16 M/S Switch ON on each follower and map the leader's Zone Temp Status (AV 34), Actual HT/CL setpoints (AV 2, AV 1) and Occupied Status (BV 11) to the follower's Master ZT (AV 4), Subordinate HT/CL SP (AV 9, AV 10) and Occupied Mode (BV 12).

Integration notes

Check it against the live device. A points list tells you what the controller can expose; the unit in front of you may differ by firmware or installed options. Easy BACnet scans a network for BACnet IP devices from an Android phone, reads every object on the MPC Multi-Protocol DDC Controller - Water-to-Air (Gen 7 and newer) and exports what it actually has to Excel — free. New to BACnet? Start with what a BACnet points list is and what the object types mean.

Questions about the ClimateMaster MPC Multi-Protocol DDC Controller - Water-to-Air (Gen 7 and newer)

How many BACnet points does the ClimateMaster MPC Multi-Protocol DDC Controller - Water-to-Air (Gen 7 and newer) have?

This list has 123 BACnet objects: 57 analog values, 62 binary values, 4 multi-state values. The exact set on a given unit depends on its firmware, installed options and configuration.

Which ClimateMaster MPC Multi-Protocol DDC Controller - Water-to-Air (Gen 7 and newer) BACnet points are writable?

68 of the 123 objects accept a write. Points marked Command have a priority array: a write holds until it is released, so release it back to automatic when you are done.

Where is the official ClimateMaster MPC Multi-Protocol DDC Controller - Water-to-Air (Gen 7 and newer) BACnet documentation?

The source is MPC Multi-Protocol DDC Controls - Application, Operation & Maintenance Manual (97B0031N01), revision 2025-12-11, published free by ClimateMaster at https://files.climatemaster.com/97b0031n01-climatemaster-mpc-multiprotocol-ddc-controls-water-source-heat-pump-application-manual.pdf.

What are the minimum BACnet points to integrate the ClimateMaster MPC Multi-Protocol DDC Controller - Water-to-Air (Gen 7 and newer)?

Start with BV 12 Occupied Mode (Occupancy command (ON = occupied)); BV 8 Emergency Shutdown (Emergency stop; ON turns Y1, Y2, G and W off); AV 3 Occupied CL SP/ Fahrenheit (Occupied cooling setpoint, °F); AV 21 Occupied HT Setpoint (Occupied heating setpoint, °F (DB Mode off)); BV 4 System Reset (Lockout reset; set ON then back OFF); BV 10 SF Status (Supply fan running); BV 3 C1 Status (Compressor 1 running); AV 34 Zone Temp Status (Space temperature); BV 1 Alarm State (Lockout condition (ON = lockout)); MV 1 Fault (Current alarm as text).

How do I enable BMS control of the ClimateMaster MPC Multi-Protocol DDC Controller - Water-to-Air (Gen 7 and newer)?

Stand-alone, the MPC defaults to occupied. BV 12 Occupied Mode (default ON) sets occupied/unoccupied from the BMS; BV 14 Work Schedule can take a BMS schedule instead. BV 8 Emergency Shutdown turns the Y1, Y2, G and W outputs off. BV 53 Compressor Shutdown disables both compressors, and BV 61/BV 54 disable heating or cooling.

Can the BMS supply sensor values to the ClimateMaster MPC Multi-Protocol DDC Controller - Water-to-Air (Gen 7 and newer)?

For units sharing one wall sensor, set BV 16 M/S Switch ON on each follower and map the leader's Zone Temp Status (AV 34), Actual HT/CL setpoints (AV 2, AV 1) and Occupied Status (BV 11) to the follower's Master ZT (AV 4), Subordinate HT/CL SP (AV 9, AV 10) and Occupied Mode (BV 12).

How do I check these points on the real MPC Multi-Protocol DDC Controller - Water-to-Air (Gen 7 and newer)?

Scan the network with a BACnet IP browser such as Easy BACnet, open the device and compare its object list with this table. Anything missing is usually an option that isn't installed or a point that is disabled in the controller's configuration.
