Privacy Policy for Easy BACnet

Last updated: 12 September 2026

The short version: Easy BACnet does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. It has no user accounts, no analytics, and no servers. Everything the app does happens on your device and on the local network you point it at.

What the app does

Easy BACnet is a diagnostic tool for building-automation technicians. It broadcasts a standard BACnet Who-Is message on the local network, lists the BACnet/IP devices that respond, reads their points, and can bundle the results into a CSV file.

Information the app does not collect

Easy BACnet receives nothing from your use of the app and has no way to see what you scan or what your network contains.

Information the app reads on your network

While you are actively using it, Easy BACnet reads technical information from BACnet devices on the network you are connected to: device names and ID numbers, IP addresses, point names, present values, engineering units, status flags, and descriptions.

This information is held in the phone's memory only for as long as the app is running, and is not sent anywhere. Closing the app discards it.

The CSV export

When you tap Export BACnet Results, the app writes a CSV file into its own private cache folder on your device and attaches it to a new message in whichever email app you choose. Two things are worth being clear about:

Cached export files are stored in the app's private storage, are not readable by other apps, and are removed when you clear the app's cache or uninstall the app.

The one in-app purchase

Everything in Easy BACnet is free except building custom remotes, which work free for 48 hours and can be made permanent with a single one-time purchase. That purchase is handled entirely by Google Play. The app never sees or stores a card number, a billing address, or a name — it receives only a yes-or-no answer from Google about whether the unlock has been bought, and records that answer on the device.

Google's handling of the transaction is covered by the Google Privacy Policy, not this one.

Permissions and why they are needed

The app requests no runtime permissions, so there are no permission prompts to accept.

Children

Easy BACnet is a professional tool for building-automation work. It is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
