Privacy Policy for Easy BACnet Explorer (Windows)

The short version: Easy BACnet Explorer for Windows collects nothing, sends nothing, and has no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no servers. Everything happens on your PC and on the local network you point it at. The license check for the paid feature runs entirely offline.

What the app does

Easy BACnet Explorer is a diagnostic tool for building-automation technicians. It broadcasts a standard BACnet Who-Is message on the local network, lists the BACnet/IP devices that respond, reads and (when you choose) commands their points, exports the results to a CSV file, lets you build custom on-screen remotes, and can run a local BACnet device emulator for testing.

Information the app does not collect

No name, email address, phone number, or account of any kind.
No analytics, crash reporting, telemetry, or usage statistics.
No advertising of any kind, and no advertising identifiers.
No documents, files, or other content from your PC beyond the files you explicitly create with the app (CSV exports and saved remotes).

The developer receives nothing from your use of the app and has no way to see what you scan or what your network contains.

Information the app reads on your network

While you are actively using it, the app reads technical information from BACnet devices on the network you are connected to: device names and ID numbers, IP addresses, point names, present values, engineering units, status flags, and descriptions. This is held in the PC's memory while the app runs and is not sent anywhere.

Files the app stores on your PC

CSV exports are written only to the location you choose in the Save dialog. The app has no email account and sends nothing by itself.
Custom remotes you design are saved as small files under %APPDATA%\EasyBacnetExplorer\remotes on your own PC.
Your license key, if you buy Pro, is stored as a file under %APPDATA%\EasyBacnetExplorer. It stays on your PC.

These files never leave your computer unless you move or send them yourself.

The device emulator

The optional Device Emulator runs a simulated BACnet/IP controller on your PC so you can test the Explorer or other BACnet clients without hardware. It answers BACnet requests on your local network only and makes no connection to the internet.

The Pro license

Easy BACnet Explorer is free, including one custom remote for one device. Building more than that requires a one-time Pro license. The license is a signed key that the app verifies offline using a built-in public key — the app makes no network call to check it and contacts no licensing server. A valid key contains only the name and email you provided when purchasing, so the app can show who it is licensed to; that information stays on your PC.

The app never sees or stores card numbers, billing addresses, or other payment details. Payment is handled by the separate checkout you used to buy the license, under that provider's own privacy policy.

Windows Firewall

BACnet/IP uses UDP on the local network, so Windows may ask you to allow the app through the firewall the first time it opens a socket. Allowing it lets the app talk to devices on your network; it does not grant any access to the internet or to your files.

Children

Easy BACnet Explorer is a professional tool for building-automation work. It is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
